Carvajal as right forward with no CF in the box to aim crosses at

Diego Lopez won't play tomorrow; he's working hard but Casillas will play because he'll start the Supercup. I won't talk about Navas because he's not a Real Madrid player.

Cristiano Ronaldo will not play tomorrow. He hasn't trained with the team and we won't run any risks. He'll train with the team in Madrid to be ready for the Supercup. I'm counting on him for the final.

Carlo more or less confirms Lopez is leaving

Also anyone else noticed that it was Alonso playing CM against Roma and not Illarra. I like that alot and would prefer it to Illarra at CM

Both should play in their correct positions imo. Illarra should be loaned out.

James did not travel to America. He is currently in Madrid training at the Valdebebas, so no he won't feature

mt, Alonso plays CM for Spain and Illarra is a superior CDM so I prefer Illarra starting at CDM and Alonso playing CM from time to time

DiMaria better stay. we don't creare enough goalscoring chances without him and isco is really dissapointing me

Why isn't Benzema back?

Benz was back on the 1st of August but did not join the team in US instead he, Varane and James have been training at the Valdebebas to get their fittness up to speed before the rest come back after the United game

Fortunately it's only pre-season, we're going to have to step it up soon. If Alonso and Illarra struggle defensively, then not sure how Modric and Kroos will work. Everything only ever works when we have Di Maria and it's a 3 man midfield.

I never get people fantasising about a midfield consisting of Kroos, Modric and whoever. Both aren't the best defensively, Modric tries but Kroos is just plain awful couple that with the fact the only one being close to imaginative between Alonso, Illarra, Kroos, Isco and Modric is Modric and even he can't create. Any of those midfield combinations is a recipy for distaster and I am absolutely sure Carlo knows it which is why he is so desperate to keep DiMaria

Training stwrts on Tuesday so we will be able to see what Carlo has in mind when it comes to to the midfield combination

First training as a full squad. No injuries reported. We will have a week to prepare for the supercup which is enough

Regarding the training sessions Marcelo and James stood out according to reports.

Apparntly Marcelo has been working with a personal trainer over his holiday so he's in great shape and James showed a lot of skill during ball work.

No need to hate Coentrao, the guy has been great for us and he isn't a trouble maker.

what? are you serious? carlo out because of a "super" cup and a couple of friendlies?? wow, that's kind of fickle, no wonder i'm not surprised when people say to me "madridistas (board and fans) don't know how to treat their personnel", its only when the players leave we start chanting statements like "what a legend". when the so called legends are active we boo them, and that kind of mentality, suggesting a coach goes because of one game and some friendlies is quite off-putting...

its that mentality that causes the same fans who now, jump at every opportunity to call raul, zidane, butragueno etc legends; but booed and whistled those same players when they were playing...zidane and raul got whistled badly in their last couple of seasons by disrespectful fans...the same fans who had the nerve to applaud the opposition, not just any opposition, but barcelona, when things got rough....

I'm pretty sure he was joking around...

By now Tito should know the forum personalities. When it comes to being optimistic (too optimistic if you ask me, which you shouldn't anyway), Z is the man with the plan i.e he is messing around.

Of course I am serious, we have already missed out on going to Cibeles once this season by not winning the ICC Cup in the US.

Carlo is clearly on the brink right now and losing one of the greatest trophies available to us next week should see him sacked imo.

Bale looks absolutely ripped. Somebody must have been taking lessons from Ronaldo



I hope he carries his preseason form into the season. I wouldn't want it to be like last season where a player impresses in preseason only to dissapoint when the season starts

A lot of the guys on our squad are pretty ripped but even by that metric Bale looks like an absolute freak

Very happy that he can have a proper preseason to get his fitness up.

With 23 players in our squad (soon to be 22 when a goalie leaves) I wonder who will be cut out of match squads especially the home ones where we are only allowed 18 players.

Yeah I'm not happy with that at all....

Di Maria will likely leave by hook or by crook. Flo will pull an Ozil on the last day imo.

Khedira will get in ahead of Illarra most likely and Isco will obviously take Di Maria's place.

That seems to me as the better alternative squad wise.
