I'm a Spurs fan, no amount of Champions League victories by Bayern can right that pain. History

It's very easy NOW to claim oh "Bayern would have won anyway even with 11 men" because we'll never know. Everyone expected us to be swept aside within the first 10 minutes. Not only could we have been leading within 10 minutes, we were holding our own against the mighty BayernWoohoo, well done, you "comfortably" beat 10 menwinning comfortably

After the red card, I stopped watching, the first time I've turned off a game since the 8-2 vs United

I disagreed with your assumption that Bayern would have won even if we had 11 men. I also disagreed with your notion that Bayern were dominating us before the red card

haha, fair enough. Anyway, the reason why it's so fun to reply arrogant stuff to you is because you're so obviously dissapointed, can't blame you.
But if you bothered to read what any of us said before the game, in the Bayern section for example, you'd see that none of us took it for granted that we'd progress easily, let alone expected to give you a 5:0 thrashing or something like that.
You'd also read that the way we start games, giving away opportunities until we take control, was of concern to us, and that's exactly what happened.

17 attempts on target can't be right. OPTA says 5. And since I don't remember Fabianski having the game of his life and making 15 saves that is definitely wrong.

They must count something else. Maybe shots that would have been on target but got blocked by defenders. Because 17 or 18 "real" attempts on target would mean that Fabianski put in the greatest goalkeeping performance of all time as he only conceded 1 from those.

Yohan Modric wrote:Just like with Man City/Barca, the red card changed the game. Arsenal were on par with Bayern up until the red card. Bayern definitely looked vulnerable defensively with that early pressure at the start. Bayern not being as good defensively as last season was clear prior to the match. I don't think Bayern's pressing was intense enough at the start, which allowed Arsenal time to pass and get through. Robben, again was a key player attacking wise, causing Arsenal trouble with his dribbling and movement.
All the jokes of MT being a bot, then this guy must be another level of bot. He is spot on here. I'd say Arsenal were a shade better than Bayern before the red card. Worries of Bayern fans on Bayern not starting the game strong enough before the match proved to be justified. Ozil did really well to earn the penalty but man what a shite penalty that was Had a bad game after that, Monreal was the worst player by far. The first goal is totally on him and Chesney. Gibbs, Sanogo and Chamberlain were great for Arsenal. Sanogo got talent, Wenger's got a great eye. Can see him benching Giroud for the rest of the season. Showed shockingly good composure for a game of this magnitude and created a lot of chances unlike Giroud who probably would have been offside the entire match and mishit his shots. Finally starting to see why Arsenal fans rate Gibbs so highly. Should start for England imo. For Bayern it was as MT said Robben and of course MOTM Kroos and Lahm. Lahm is a legend while Kroos was unreal. Muller once again turned up in a big game being the boss he is. Gotze flopped badly, he was worse than Ozil. I don't know why Bayern turned into Moyes United for a while in the game, all those failed crosses with Gotze playing the role of Ashley Young The red card was the key moment and kudos to Pep for adjusting his tactics to ruthlessly take advantage of the sending off.
Btw no one talking of the Koscielny foul at the end? That was a clear penalty.

Re: Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Munich
Most are praising Lahm, Kroos, Müller as if they played versus an Arsenal who possessed 11 men. Wenger drastically changed their semantic post-red card to which allowed Bayern a bevy space to which any midfielder worth his salt would thrive on. Before the red was seen, I didn't see Kroos in the game while Lahm played RB in the 1st.
Praise is deserved but now above its warranted level.

Spot on as always. Exactly my thoughts as well. If this game showed anything then that is Arsenal were able to go toe to toe with Bayern Muniche . This guardiola side isnt no where near the level they were last year under Heyneck. This game also proved that Wenger made wrong decision when he subbed off Cazorla instead of Ozil who wandered around the pitch like a zombie. Not only that the decision to put Ozil + Monreal against Robben and Rafinha was tragic.
Re: Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Munich
Kroos fully deserves every praise he gets. He has a knack for breaking down tough defenses. I remember he was the one who made that cross to Muller for the header against us in the CL final, despite us parking the train. Its not something he's unaccustomed to.Arquitescu wrote:Most are praising Lahm, Kroos, Müller as if they played versus an Arsenal who possessed 11 men. Re: Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Munich
It was a difficult away game. No Schweni or Ribery. Had Ribery been there the LW would have been better and Alaba would have had more support defensively. It would also allowe Goetze to play with Kroos centrally.
This is a team in progress but tactically this team is far above last season's team. Technically and Variety also the team has taken a leap.
Pep's still is more offensive, no double pivot and very high offside trap. It is not easy to pull off and there will be issues initially. When perfected with a full injury less squad it is going to be a different monster, far dangerous than Jupp's team.
Thought Robben had a fanatastic game. Amazing runs, small combinations and he streched the field as soon the Red Card game. Too bad tactically others could not take advantage of the gap between Monreal and the rest.
Also it was sweat dropping down. Surprised people called it spitting.
Alaba was taken to the cleaners by OX and Boateng was bad. Would love to see Ribery be back soon.
Bayern could do with a World Class CB next season in the league of T. Silva. It would make the team a different beast.
