He's gonna run them down all the way to the championship. By the time he's done with them in training they won't have enough energy left to compete

They may get relegated, but at least they will be totally fit. ^^

Meulensteen lasted 16 days in charge of Anzhi, 17 games in charge of Fulham, I guess his next target should be 18 weeks.

He could try the HSV next, although I fear there the record might be 18 hours.Art Morte wrote:Meulensteen lasted 16 days in charge of Anzhi, 17 games in charge of Fulham, I guess his next target should be 18 weeks.

If Magath managed to save the Eintracht from relegation back in the day, he can do Fulham.
They need to get him some money for his ridiculous transfers in the summer, though.

Fulham's next game is a relegation six-pointer away to West Brom. If they lose that one, I don't think there's saving them any more. If they win, everything's possible.

Players will be fit and Fulham will have a bunch of new players in the summer. Good for Fulham.

Re: Fulham have appointed Felix Magath as their First Team Manager
Fulham's only real hope is getting Mitroglou fit and hoping he settles in quickly in the PL and links up with Holtby. Their defense isn't getting any better so they'll need to focus on outscoring their relegation rivals in the "6-pointers." Harsh as this was on Meulensteen, with his sacking coming out of the blue on the back of perhaps Fulham's two best performances this season/year, his record at Fulham was abysmal and they were almost certainly heading down at the current rate... a(nother) managerial change may be the only card they've got left to play at this point.

Yeah, giving the job to Meulensteen in the first place was a mistake if they could have got someone like Magath.

Agreed, Rwo.
Quälix is essentially a fraud of a manager and is like Marcelo Bielsa- just without the tactical nous, innovation and inherent genius.
He catalyzes absurd philosophies almost for the sake of standing out from the doldrum but functional tactics of his predecessor.

Holtby should've never left Schalke. What a waste of a potentially player of the higher international class.

GL won't recognize that since outside CSpurs and 1-2 others, no one rates him given what was displayed in his time during Tottenham.
Yet what they may have missed is what Schalke were with Holtby and Schalke are now without him, essentially he was their best player.
Now a loan move to a lowly nothing club such as Fulham will only bring his once high profile even lower considering the propensity to produce what he did in Schalke's system, will be more difficult to do so within this archaic formation by Maulenstein.
Hope Spurs don't take him back, simultaneously Schalke attempting to lure him back to Gelsenkirchen.
A sad story, still has time.

I agree with you, and also want to congratulate myself to that utter lack of grammar I displayed up there.
Either way, he needs to go back to Schalke, or find another club that has use for a player of his caliber. Would do well at the likes of Schalke, Neverkusen, Dortmund, Arsenal etc., someone who's actually willing to have a CM be their pivot, or take pressure off their main playmakers, at least.

Valentines day is nigh end and its been a long night, I don't blame you.
Solid suggestions although Dortmund highly unlikely for obvious reasons and Mkhitaryan performs his role. Yes, I personally feel the AM role is what suits Holtby best, unless you speak of his CM role in which he produces late runs and is very vertical.
Lord knows Arsenal, Liverpool, Milan etc could have used him dearly and Leverkusen lack a player of his dynamic ilk.
Man seems admirably happy to any club he goes as such is his happy-go-lucky outlook to his situation.
But Bundesliga beckons for his return and who will actually appreciate his talent.
Sickening to see him in Fulham.

Still would have taken him with open arms at Anfield in January, though with our shift in formation and Coutinho's resurgence (and Allen's return to fitness) the need is much less pressing.

I still don't understand how Spurs failed to use him, it's not like they even remotely got a better player for the positions Holtby is good at.

Need us touch upon that point?
-Same Spurs who have criminally misused Erik Lamela?
-Same Spurs who use Christian Eriksen as a left winger in a 4-4-2?
-Same Spurs who attempt at square pegs in round holes with Soldado?
Questioning the use of their players is like asking Angela Merkel to cease using that god damn word, alternativlos.

So many managers be getting sacked just after or a game after losing to us.
