Anyways, I didn't watch the second half but we had it locked in the first 45 mins. Messi's and Cesc's hard work were commendable (the second goal was the result of cesc pressing and intercepting iirc, which is in itself a rare thing).

Defense is still a disgrace though. You always have this feeling that Rayo got into dangerous positions but lacked the individual quality for the final pass to make something happen. The backline needs to be calmer. They look like they are all panicking everytime someone comes near them.

If this team had proper defenders, Fabregas, Iniesta, Neymar, Messi upfront would be enough to walz every team. But imagine City scoring from a simple and extremely preventable cross in the 15th minute and all of a sudden it drags down the confidence of the entire team while the opponent gains confidence. That's how you lose games.

I agree with fussball, the defense looked rather shaky.

Iniesta, Messi, Cesc had very good games today, from best to worst in that order for me.

if Iniesta and Messi keep their form and continue to dribble and add dangerous passes along with them we will breeze though City.
Kinda mad though that we didn't sub out Iniesta as he could of used some rest before the big game but oh well.

but lets not get ahead of ourselves this Rayo team isn't exactly all that good.
good match before an important one, confidant should be high and everyone fighting for spots.

Very good collective pressing for a change, some moments where Rayo got at us and both centerbacks were pretty shaky but at least from the front, to the midfield and fullbacks pressed and defended intensely.

If im Adriano I wonder what I have to do to be first choice tbh.

Iniesta was sublime, some magnificent stuff from him. Quite sure he didnt get an assist but he created the most chances for sure.

Only downside in attack for me was again the reluctance to shoot in front of goal from Pedro, Alexis and Cesc on one occasion..instead trying to give Messi a tap in. Just make the right play, wasting such chances against tougher opponents cant happen.

Watch every goal carefully and bear in mind they're against a crappy second goalkeeper who's played 3 matches for Levante this season. Even then he got a touch on all Tello's goals
