20-25m IMO. 30 is too much. They also still owe us for Cesc so we can get any player for lower amount I think.

Should we possibly try for Alves? or wages will be too much?

I wouldn't be surprised if Barcelona found some way around the ban, in the end.

Pedro or Alexis would indeed be good acquisitions. But the latter has had plenty of problems with his finishing in his time at Barca, hasn't he? Could be very frustrating. But his goal tally tends to be respectable at the end of each season nonetheless.

I hate Dani Alves and he's not young, but if we're looking for a quality right-back to replace Sagna and basically just ease into the development of Bellerin (or Jenkinson), he wouldn't be a bad one at all if he came cheap.

If Mascherano were a few years younger, I'd probably be quite receptive to bringing him in as a DM, too. But he's going to be 30 when the new season starts, and the point (IMO) is that we need a guy with real legs & physicality who can do a long-term job.

The rumours comes from a bigger article about Bartemou, the stand-in president for Barcelona, detailing a plan to improve Barcelona. The first part is, of course, getting FIFA to overturn the transfer ban, or at least negotiate a lighter punishment. From there, he wants to buy seven new players, and sell off a few, including Pedro and Alexis... or so the rumour goes.

Obviously, any deal for those two would depend entirely on whether Barcelona are banned from buying players. If they're still banned they're not going to sell anymore, less they want to screw themselves even more.

Take Pedro and run if he's available. Anything below £30m is a steal imo.

Anyway, France Football reports Arsenal are close to agreeing a contract extension with Koscielny, both sides are committed to doing it before the World Cup.

Article goes on to claim that Arsenal have made contact with Toulouse over 21 year-old Serge Aurier. Would be available for €10million.

Should really target Alves if Sagna leaves.

Would like Pedro and/or Alexis.. But has to be at the right price. Good players, but wouldn't break the bank for them.

Alves earns £120k/week now, if he accepts a pay cut to £100k/week (which is what Sagna wants apparently) then I see no reason why we shouldn't go for it, we'd actually improve our RB position. His contract also expires in 2015 which combined with Barças "desire" to sell means it won't cost us more than a Coleman who's inferior compared to both of them. It also gives Jenkinson/Bellerin time to develope further with the hope that one of them will step up in time.

If Sagna accepts our offer though, sign him up no debate. Stability in defence >>> all

Everyone on twitter knows I love Pedro. Big fan of Alexis too. Either would be brilliant - though, with Walcott returning and Gnabry coming through, would be surprised if we moved for either. A move for Drmic more likely.

They way I see it, our relationship with Barcelona is one way street, we're only able to lure their youngsters out, never once an established ones and they have been milking us left and right since Overmars.

All of those names are unlikely but Alves is the most, I mean Zubi is stupid but not blind, Montoya as starter lol. He is also roughly at same age as Sagna & will cost an arm and leg, not because of his true value but clubs like QSG, Monaco will sniffing around no doubt.

Pedro or Alexis on the other hand are still at the right age and could last for quite a while. Signing any of them though, we might have to say bye bye to our world class CF, and stick with Giroud for another year.

Another name was not mentioned & might get laughed at but entirely possible given how he has been this season, Song. That's right, our new back up CB/DM. For cut price, I will take him back, why not.

Twitter rumors that Arsenal are scouting Parma's Afriyie Acquah today. So far, he has been on the bench v Inter. Laughing

Seems to be attributed to "African media" or to Chris Wheatley (@GoonerTalk).

he's new Appiah by that I mean he will be linked to Arsenal every now and then. As for quality, he is good for team like Parma, not Arsenal material, a bit better than Frimpong. Only Parma players that Arsenal should watch for is Palleta & maybe Biabiany.

Tbh if you fishing for talents, Serie A is at its all time low to be a proper pool, that asumes clubs like Juve & Roma dont sell. You got lots of past it or youngsters with attitude, injury problem. Although 30m for Cuadrado & Rossi and Im set.

If we want players from Serie A than it should be Icardi, Destro, Kovacic, SES, Balo, Cuadrado, Pjanic, Strootman or Vidal.

Obviously some of them are unattainable while others could be an option but with big money.

Apart from that I haven't seen any real quality.
