Remember The Days .... ?!
Remember when we were in our most attractive position to pull top players in January and didn't do anything ?
Remember the days when we thought relying on a 19 year old, Victor Forehead, A Spanish kid we never play and Iago Aspas would be enough for top 4? Top times
Remember when we were 6 points ahead of the champions and let them sign a world class player unopposed ?
Remember when we twatted Spurs and were well above them, but then signed no one and they caught us up and became level ? Erection man.
Remember when we were looking to spend money on Willian and Mkhitaryan but didn't and now still haven't? Toppest of top times.
Remember when we were in the Europa League again and got to watch the Champions League on telly? What memories
Remember when Luis Suarez signed a new contract and we played a load of shit behind him and thought he'd stay here? The greatest of times.
10 more days of WAKING UP....Signing a Lucas replacement and another attacking player....or we'd blow a big big chance. Even if we don't sign anyone, we can block Mata's deal to Man U by bidding for him and upping his price. Be smart, Be proactive...CONCENTRATE Liverpool.
Or else....we'd blow this massive chance...and spend entire summer listening to:

Ooh are we reacting to things that haven't happened yet again?
I'm super pissed about the impending loss to Everton this weekend, too, while we're at it.

I'm being proactive. If we'd spent wisely in summer, we'd be in title hunt now.
Right now, we have a chance to put it right and at least secure that 4th spot....but we don't seem bothered at all.
Honestly, can't believe some aren't concerned.

Re: Remember The Days .... ?!
I see nothing wrong with a thread to blow off some steam, carry on Sep
I just hope everyone at the club understands that if we don't get CL, Suarez is gone and we will have to start rebuilding all over again almost from scratch.
16 finals are left. Everything is in our hands. WE MUST do something about it. Sign the right players (at least 2 (attacker and DM as mentioned), the higher quality the better) in the next 10 days. And then play Everton like it's the CL final at Anfield ffs.
The next 5 years of this club could be shaped with the next 16 league games (or even with the next 10 transfer days). Huge pressure, but this is the time to walk the talk.

Bar Chelsea, who else has?
Remember the days when we thought relying on a 19 year old, Victor Forehead, A Spanish kid we never play and Iago Aspas would be enough for top 4? Top times
They're squad players.... and no one thought that.
Remember when we were 6 points ahead of the champions and let them sign a world class player unopposed ?
If this in regards to Mata, the deal is far from done. They've submitted a bid. No bid has been agreed upon.
Remember when we twatted Spurs and were well above them, but then signed no one and they caught us up and became level ? Erection man.
Who have Spurs signed? They caught up to us because we're horrible on the road.
Remember when we were looking to spend money on Willian and Mkhitaryan but didn't and now still haven't? Toppest of top times.
Dodged a bullet on Willian, he's pretty much Chelsea's Henderson. Mkhitaryan rejected us. The intent was there for both players. My only concern here is we had no "back up" targets and we we thought Luis Alberto >>>>>>> Eriksen
Remember when we were in the Europa League again and got to watch the Champions League on telly? What memories
We're not even in the Europa.
Remember when Luis Suarez signed a new contract and we played a load of shit behind him and thought he'd stay here? The greatest of times.
That's just false. The reason we don't make top 4 has nothing to do with the squad / players, it's more to do with Rodgers experimenting / being stupid on match days.

This I can agree with. Perhaps we can put a sneaky bid in for Kagawa too.

William has been fantastic for Chelsea this past 2 months. Remember when you used to say Cou is better ? . Totally agree on Eriksen though. 21 million on Alberto, Ilori and Aspas and we never use them in the league because they aren't ready. Only oil teams + teams

Top squads already can afford such luxuries. Seriously, I'm gonna go ballistic if we *bleep* up top 4. Our squad is already stretched as hell.... Plz

Re: Remember The Days .... ?!
I still think Coutinho is better, and will continue to be better. Again, Willian has absolutely no end product. He's in the team because he has an engine, we didn't need that as we have Hendo. Glad we stayed far away. Especially at that fee. We still need a number 10, mind. And definitely cover for Lucas. (Which again, we already knew in the summer but we've left it to this late.) Wouldn't mind Mata, but I don't think Chelsea will sell in the winter.
If we can get cover for Lucas, and for the love of god, STOP EXPERIMENTING PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, we'll get top 4. But if Rodgers continues to think he's Mourinho and tries new tactics every game (where it's clear that the best possible chance of us getting 3 points is playing "death by football") we won't get there.
Again, Rodgers is more of a Wenger type strategist. He's trying to be somebody he's not, and that's why Spurs and United have caught up. We've dropped too many points because of tactical reasons this season.
Results really were covering up performances before, the downfall was inevitable for us (but apparently only "pessismists" could see that). Especially with teams not playing well at the start of the season because they were adapting to new managers.
If we don't get top 4, we're going to struggle for a couple of more years. The time is now. We honestly should be title challenging right now, no idea why we lowered our expectations to 4th.
We went from first on the 26th of December to 4th, to 9 points behind top spot in 4 games.

Re: Remember The Days .... ?!
As I said at the start of the season, this is probably our best chance of getting back with the elite, with so many changes that took place back in the summer. And no, this isn't the *bleep* time to stay casual, optimistic and watch things unfold and believe there's still time left and we will eventually make the top 4. If we can't this season, we never can...

Re: Remember The Days .... ?!
I think we will finish in top 4 but we also have/had a chance this season to get something more other than just 4th. If we cant go for the title, at least we should be fighting for 2nd or 3rd, by that I mean we should end up more near to 2nd/3rd rather than scrubbing with 5th, 6th or 7th.
If we are in the news for the rest of the season that we are doing more than just top4, it would might give us that extra pull to attract some top talent at least in the summer window.
The frustrating thing is when we know one good CM signing would boost our chances massively, today is Wed and we could just see De Jong, i am not sure how good he is still

Re: Remember The Days .... ?!
Remember the days when supporters actually SUPPORTED the club/management/squad/players?
Remember the days when people waited to see how a player played for a bit before deciding whether they were worthwhile?
Remember the days when the club's success or failure was determined at the END OF THE SEASON by league position and trophies rather than by HOW MUCH WAS SPENT in transfer windows... a reputation that attracted both players and new supporters?
Remember the days when Liverpool fans had a reputation for being more than FM/FIFA mode fans who only cared about big names coming in and big paychecks going out?
Remember the days when we believed that a 5-year plan for returning to the level where we could compete for trophies regularly in the CL and PL (you know, a year and a half ago) rather than believing it all had to happen in a single season or ALL WILL BE LOST FOREVER OMG WTF?!?!?
Remember the days when I actually ENJOYED coming to the section for reasoned discussion and humour and whatnot, rather than dreading it because it will be full of knee-jerk and whinging?
Remember the days I TRIED engaging and discussing opposing views reasonably and rationally? Then remember the days I tried simply avoiding/ignoring said views because discussion had proved fruitless? Then remember the days I took regular breaks to keep my patience at sustainable levels? Remember when I finally realized that wasn't working?
Remember the days when this section actually made it MORE interesting and fun to support the club, rather than less?
Remember the days when I was actually the Mod for this section?
Good times, those.

Have supported Liverpool for long enough not to live in denial mate.
We have no fullbacks, zero depth in central midfield, and a shambolic defense.
Suarez and Sturridge can only win us some games....unless both go on Messi/Ronaldo mode until end of the season, I can't see it, especially with all our rivals strengthening as well.
We've totally lost the momentum we had exactly a month ago after Suarez had signed a new contract.

We have 4 first choice defenders out injured.Arguably our entire first choice defence.
We have lost momemtum
Of our last 9 games , Apart from the chelsea and City away (who have a combined home record of 21-20-1-0) we have won six out of our 7 PL matches. How the hell that equates into loss of momentum.

It's not. I don't care who we have lost ot. WE HAVE LOST.
We were in title talk a month ago, now it has all gone back to top 4.
All our top 4 rivals are in better form, and have closed the gap on us.
All of them seem to be strengthening as well...while we are having a longer injury list than alll of them.
You strengthen in position of strength. You need to be proactive than reactive.
I bump this thread when our lack of ambition cost us our best chance of top 4 in years, and we're crying over sale of Suarez in summer.
BOOKMARKED.

Re: Remember The Days .... ?!
Sepi may be going over the top, but he's not wrong.
Spurs and United are just going to get stronger next season regardless if they make top 4, and we'll lose Suarez if we don't make top 4. United have shown they can still attract top class players with Mata potentially going there. (And at the risk they won't make CL football. If they lose Rooney, they'll potentially drop too, but they can atleast bring in quality to replace him as United is still a "top" team. We've been average for almost 5 years now. There's no chance in hell we're replacing Suarez, regardless if we get 70m+ for him.)
Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal are going to get stronger, too and will probably be guaranteed top 3 next season too.
Everton may drop because majority of their key players right now are all on loan, but if they make top 4 next season (they have as good as chance as Liverpool, United or Spurs do) they can improve too.
We absolutely NEED top 4 this season. Maybe Rodgers needs to work with a DoF after all. He's struggled this season. Both in the market, and on game days. We can't let this opportunity of top 4 to slip.
Watch fans blame FSG for not spending in January, or blame injuries or having a thin squad if we don't make top 4...

It's not one specific deal or player. With the knowledge that we need strengthening and the fact that we have Ian Ayre to negotiate and our incapacity to close deals is the reason of the frustration. Then again that's what i think . .
