It's not one specific deal or player. With the knowledge that we need strengthening and the fact that we have Ian Ayre to negotiate and our incapacity to close deals is the reason of the frustration. Then again that's what i think . .  hmm

 Thumbs up

Exactly. And again it seems we didn't approach a target with a plan-B.

Spurs and United are just going to get stronger next season regardless if they make top 4, and we'll lose Suarez if we don't make top 4. United have shown they can still attract top class players with Mata potentially going there. (And at the risk they won't make CL football. If they lose Rooney, they'll potentially drop too, but they can atleast bring in quality to replace him as United is still a "top" team. We've been average for almost 5 years now. There's no chance in hell we're replacing Suarez, regardless if we get 70m+ for him.)

Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal are going to get stronger, too and will probably be guaranteed top 3 next season too.

Everton may drop because majority of their key players right now are all on loan, but if they make top 4 next season (they have as good as chance as Liverpool, United or Spurs do) they can improve too.

We absolutely NEED top 4 this season. Maybe Rodgers needs to work with a DoF after all. He's struggled this season. Both in the market, and on game days. We can't let this opportunity of top 4 to slip.

Watch fans blame FSG for not spending in January, or blame injuries or having a thin squad if we don't make top 4...

Would it be wrong ?

Our squad is thin. we know it, FSG know it. We have a chance to re-enforce now. If we don't spend, when the weaknesses are obvious and glaring...then who's responsible for that? let me guess, Rodgers ? Laughing

I dont know this desperation comes out because other clubs are signing loads and we none OR we are truly incapable of signing anyone OR after 3-4 years we have a genuine chance to get in into top 4. I am just hoping that it will be similar as like the last two windows when we couldnt get Dempsey but then in next window we got Cou and Studge. So if we fail to get someone in this window, I hope we will do the same when summer window comes. But before that we must finish top 4.

Wtf have our committee been doing the past 6 months? Rodgers keeps saying that there is hard work going on behind closed doors and the best they could come up with was Salah? I'm sorry but I can't buy this bs.

Call me in 7 days, I can't take this shit anymore, hate the frickin transfer window.

Our chances of finishing in the top 4 decreases drastically if all our rivals strenghten in this window while we (having the longest injury list in the league) just sit on our asses thinking it's our god given right to get 4th.

I will never be able to forgive this incompetence during this period if we fail to get CL at the end of the season.

We didn't had a strong enough squad to begin with. Now with injuries and rivals strengthening further, our chance of finishing T4 is on the ropes. Not finishing T4 has some disastrous consequences too. The thing is we have the chance to make CL after FIVE years and that can usher an even better future for us. But without certain improvements in the squad, it's really not up to us to ensure CL.

FSG have stated they will provide the cash. Rodgers has stated th same thing. FSG have not once stated they will not spend this window.

Us not signing anyone would be the COMMITTEE'S fault, it's
not on FSG.

The committee is also at fault for not providing an adequate back up for Lucas. You're crying over losing over Salah who we didn't even need. We need cover in central midfield.

The reason we're struggling for top 4 is because we've brought other teams back into the race becausw of Rodgers experiments. So yeah, he's too blame. As is his committee for "failing" in the summer and "failing" this Jan window.

Remember the days Javier "refused to play"...... yeah I do too.

Clearly PR image saying he "refused to play". Glad he's finally come out.

Mascherano reveals bitter Liverpool exit
February 16, 2014

Javier Mascherano has revealed to The Times he left Liverpool "with a bad feeling" and has denied refusing to play for the club against Manchester City before moving to Barcelona three-and-a-half years ago.

Javier Mascherano insists he did not refuse to play for Liverpool despite Roy Hodgson's claims
The Argentina international was left out of the then Anfield manager Roy Hodgson's plans for the 3-0 defeat to City in August 2010, with Hodgson suggesting that the defensive midfielder's 'mind was not right' after interest from the Catalan giants.

However, Mascherano insists he refused to line up for Liverpool, and states he kept his silence at the time due to his admiration for the Premier League side, while suggesting that the club's hierarchy failed to keep their word leading to a relationship breakdown.

“I didn’t want to say anything at the time because of my respect for Liverpool,” Mascherano said. “I did not want to say anything about a club that had been so good for me, so I kept my mouth shut.

“Maybe that was a mistake, because it allowed other people to say bad things about me. But I do not regret it. Liverpool is a special club and it does not deserve to be treated badly.

"The people who were there at the time -- the manager [Hodgson] and Christian Purslow [the former managing director] -- have gone now but they know the truth. When I went back to Liverpool for preseason I had a lot of meetings with them and they were promising a lot of things to me but never kept their word.

“I did not wake up one day and refuse to play. In the game before City we played against Arsenal and I gave everything because I was wearing the Liverpool shirt. Why would I do that and risk getting injured when I knew that Barcelona were close to signing me and then refuse to play in another game? That doesn’t make any sense."

Mascherano explained that the Anfield side began to make a potential move to Barcelona more difficult, which led to him leaving the club under a cloud -- an outcome he is still disappointed about.

“We had been talking about completing the transfer for 20 days because the club also wanted to make it happen, but then they started to make things difficult for me. It was very sad for me to leave Liverpool in the way that I did because being with them was one of the best moments in my life.

“The people treated me really well and I would never want to let them down. I wanted to leave in another way, but they didn’t give me the chance to. That is the truth. It left me with a bad feeling. My time at the club was over and I needed to move on, but I also needed to leave the club in a good way and that wasn’t allowed to happen.”

The 29-year-old has gone on to play 98 times with Barcelona, becoming a solid part of the Blaugranas' back line and winning two La Liga titles as well as the Champions league in 2011.

Part in bold. Those broken promises again. Same "broken promises" to Torres and Rafa under Purslow. C*nt. Same broken promises in the summer with Luis. Not sure if Ayre's at fault here, but let's hope everything has settled down behind the scenes.  :brickwall:

EDIT: And I say Ayre because he's the only member of the board that's been at the club pre-FSG era.

Remember the days when this section actually made it MORE interesting and fun to support the club, rather than less?

Remember the days when I was actually the Mod for this section?

Good times, those.
RO must be so romantic person in real life hmm

Btw, if we finish fourth and we are able to sign another WC player in the summer, I will forget all of this
