Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
U21 team to play Derby tonight:
Huddart; Moore, Bielik, Pleguezuelo, Bola; Kamara, Sheaf; Jeff, Hinds, Iwobi; Mavididi
Zelalem left out as he completes a loan move to somewhere (Rangers in all likelihood), while Mourgos and Fortune presumably drop down to the U18s.
Former Arsenal "next best thing evar" Alban Bunjaku in the Derby squad.

bunjaku has not been given a contract, cuz according to this numbdheads
"he holds the ball too much"
so what? so *bleep* what?
if anyone here has watched him, he is the academy's most talented midfielder since *bleep* Wilshere..
but oh no.. he holds the ball too much
watch an U-18 game highlight guys, him and Toral rape midfields(with olsson too)
now watch him go to United or God forbid Barcelona
GoonerJay92 wrote:Where are you hearing this? A club like Arsenal wouldn't just let a player go merely because "he holds the ball too much". They'd recognise the talent of the player and coach any bad habits out of him rather than just give up on him.
I know the kid is very talented and very classy with his style, but let's not over-react here. There's no way of knowing if he'd make it at Arsenal, as at that age and at that level there have been many, many talents who look fantastic but end up going nowhere, and kids who don't look so good that end up first team players. Remember Jay Emmanuel-Thomas? Perfect example of someone with immense talent, but just never cut it at senior level.
And let's not start a foreigner vs home grown debate, because most arguments we'd come up with would be baseless and just wild guessing. I, for one, do not believe the club is prejudiced towards home grown talents, because that'd be counter-productive.
So really, just get over it. It's a shame, but there's plenty more fish in the sea
Jay providing some sanity back in the day
Look at this clown below lmao
urbaNRoots wrote:drakefyre wrote:Personally , i think people are over-reacting . Bunjaku may look amazing , but so did Bendnter and JET . If the club doesnt really see a future for a player in his natural role , it's better to let him go . Of course , it may turn out to be the wrong decision - that's why people who know much more about the player in question than you or me are entrusted to make that decision .
And If what i read about the guy having attitude problems , the club may be right in their decision . Ajax released an uber-talented Owusu-Abeyie at 15 , look how that one tuned out . Thing is , coaches who interact with these players while they are growing up tend to have a pretty good idea how they'll end up .
And abt the part where Bunjaku is supposedly a die-hard gunner , if he has the DNA , he can always find a way back .
C. Ronaldo hadn't the best attitude but is now the second best player in the world. Bendtner and JET were never that good when they were 18 how Bunjaku atm is. I don't know the story maybe he's a d*ck, so I'm not defending him.
And finally
RealGunner wrote:we dont know the full story behind it. Its all chinese whispers atm

FT Arsenal U21 3-2 Derby
Late goals from Mavididi and Hinds ensured our win.
Some Derby scrub scored late on as well
Nice to see our youth teams winning for once

4-0 now.
Mavididi with a hat-trick, Kamara with the fourth.
Will be three wins in three for the U21s so far.

Hinds, Mavididi, Kamara, Bielik and Macey did particularly well. Good cameos from Willock and Bennacer as well.

Re: Arsenal U23s & U18s Thread
The U19s are playing their first UEFA Youth League match against Zagreb at 15:00 (UK time). The game is being streamed here:
http://gnkdinamo.hr/HR/Novosti/Clanak/dinamo-osigurao-live-stream-utakmice-dinamo---arsenal
Although whether it'll work or not I've no idea.
Team is:
Keto; Moore, Pleguezuelo, Bielik, Bola; Sheaf, Willock; Iwobi, Hinds, Nelson; Mavididi
Looks a very offensive team.
Some of new lads, like Dragovic and Malen, are still waiting for international clearance to play, and I think Fortune is injured at the moment.

The U19s beat Bayern 2-0 in the UEFA Youth League earlier thanks to two goals from Alex Iwobi. Arsenal have now won three in a row in that competition.
Will be hilarious when our youth team goes further than the senior team in the Champions League.

Hasn't that already happened before?I don't remember whether 'twas the NextGen series or the UEFA Youth League but we almost made it to the SFs once. The team had the likes of Gnabry & Bellerin.
