What are some of the potential targets for us?
Eddie Howe seems like the obvious target rn but who else?

Re: Arsene Wenger Contract Discussion Thread
So here is step by step
1. Wengers finish his contract
2. Bayer fail domestically & internationally
3. Ancelotti gets replaced
4. Arsenal appoint Ancelotti as panic measurement
5. Ancelotti works at Arsenal for two years
6. Low fail with Germany in 2018
7 Sign Low
You can replace Tuchel, Simeone, Dortmund, Inter somewhere there. What I mean is we need instant lift right after Wengers, a long term project right after Wengers dynasty might be too much for a new coach.

Re: Arsene Wenger Contract Discussion Thread
RB Leipzig manager Ralph Hasenhuttl says he's been contacted by Arsenal about succeeding Wenger in the event he doesn't stay on next year:

Re: Arsene Wenger Contract Discussion Thread
Now please step down Arsene. Doesn't matter as long as you scrape another fourth place trophy and convince Özlexis to extend.

Re: Arsene Wenger Contract Discussion Thread
All evidence points to him being an exceptionally accomplished coach, both in terms of tactics and man management. Obviously he's never had to deal with stars.
Not exactly a practitioner of the joga bonito, though. More like a less thuggish Simeone.

Re: Arsene Wenger Contract Discussion Thread
Hmm I see. do you know why he did poor at his previous clubs? Was it just lack of experience?
I wanted a manager from Bundesliga (actually a german manager) but Austrian is the next best thing I suppose.
Will start watching RB Leipzig now properly.

Already corrected 'joga bonito' once, apparently still didn't get it right. Not going to correct it once more.

He didn't do poor at Ingolstadt, he did fantastic. Led them from danger of relegation into third division to promotion and good season in Bundesliga, absolutely nasty team to play.

I am up for anyone not named Moyes or Pardew tbh.
I like Hasenhuttl, though I can't bring myself to not despise RB.

Re: Arsene Wenger Contract Discussion Thread
I can't imagine Wenger actually stopping and neither can I imagine his replacement will be a name like Hasenhüttl.
But frankly it doesn't matter anyway.
Pretty sure the first coach to succeed Wenger after 20 years of being monarch will have a trainwreck of a tenure.
History tells us you want to be the guy who follows the guy who follows the guy

You could say our next manager will be the Robert Baratheon to Wenger's Aerys Targaryen

Re: Arsene Wenger Contract Discussion Thread
If this is in fact Wenger's last season at Arsenal then I'd really like him to win the league. It would be the perfect farewell gift for him, for the club, and above all, for their fans who are just amazing.
I realize it's going to be extremely difficult for him this year with Liverpool, City, Chelsea and possibly United all gunning for the title. But the man has been in the PL for twenty years and he has become one of the icons in world football. The league title would make his departure even more legendary.
He should give everything he's got, one last time, one last battle before "riding into the sunset".

Re: Arsene Wenger Contract Discussion Thread
@Cabbage, We won't win a league title without Cazorla, unfortunately.
From the sounds of it, it sounds like the Leipzig coach is one of the better options out there for us.
I would take him.
