you take all statistics together and have a results how great is a player what is pretty great on that website

and based on that you have

CHIELLINI> BONNUCI > BARZAGLI

If you think that's true, then you truly don't understand certain players' roles on this team. Chiellini has three times as many shots as Barzagli. Do you really believe that's because Chiellini is such a great shooter or because Chiellini is better at getting open? No, it's because he and Barzagli have different roles on the team. If you don't get that, then there is no use in arguing with or explaining things to you.

Barzagli is the defensive CB in our formation and commander of the defense with Buffon. Bonucci is the offensive CB. While Chiello is between with more attacking role

There is no point in trying to explain it, Devi. If people watched any of Juve's games they would know this, but instead they like to look at irrelevant stats.

This is the biggest joke ive ever heard.

- The Wall | Andrea Barzagli #15 - Page 2 Empty Barzagli injury update

Post by DeviAngel Sun Nov 17, 2013 2:04 am

Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli is out of Monday’s Italy-Nigeria and at risk for Livorno after an injury against Germany.

The centre-back limped off after clutching his thigh during last night’s 1-1 international friendly at San Siro.

He was sent back to Turin rather than make the trip to London with the rest of the Azzurri side for Monday night’s game against Nigeria.

“Andrea Barzagli, who left the field towards the end of last night’s Italy v Germany game due to muscular discomfort in his left thigh, has undergone an MRI scan this afternoon in Turin which has revealed a pectineus muscle strain.

“The extent of the injury will be assessed over the coming days,” read a statement from the Juventus website.

It therefore remains to be seen whether he can recover in time for next weekend’s Serie A encounter with Livorno.

He didn't deserve to be called like that except those 2 bad games at his early start at Juve he was solid and he has great crosses even thou he is better CB than LWB. He deserves respect.

- The Wall | Andrea Barzagli #15 - Page 2 Empty Barzagli: Pirlo unique, but…

Post by DeviAngel Tue Dec 03, 2013 2:51 pm

Andrea Barzagli doesn’t expect boss Antonio Conte to ask Juventus to play differently now that Andrea Pirlo is sidelined.

The playmaker is set to be out of action for around 40 days after picking up a knee ligament problem in the game against Udinese on Sunday.

“Andrea is important for us, he’s one of the best in the world and lends us his vast experience,” the 32-year-old added.

“Luckily we have excellent players who can come into the midfield, though there’s nobody like him. As a great team, we’ll look to play our own game just the same without him.”

Pirlo limped out of the Udinese game in the first half and the Old Lady only ensured a win thanks to an injury-time Fernando Llorente strike.

“It was a crucial win which arrived in the last minute of a difficult match,” Barzagli continued. “We did well and were fortunate to believe in ourselves.

“Udinese proved themselves to be in a better physical condition than us, and they made us suffer on two occasions when Gigi Buffon made the difference.”

Juventus have won their last six games and they haven’t conceded a goal during that winning streak which has taken them to the top of the table.

“At the beginning we conceded quite a few goals, even though not necessarily more than in other years, perhaps more because of lapses in concentration than anything.

“But after the Fiorentina game we’ve rediscovered that defensive solidarity which is fundamental to winning in Italy.

“It’s to early to talk of us running away with the Scudetto though, we’re still at the beginning. Roma have done extraordinary things so far, and we’ve done well to keep up with them and then overtake.

“But the road ahead is long, and we’re already concentrating on Friday’s game in Bologna.”

Barzagli: All thoughts on Sassuolo

Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli has claimed that his team are now focused on the match with Sassuolo at the weekend.

The Bianconeri were knocked out of the Champions League during the week, going down 1-0 to Galatasaray in Istanbul.

But the centre-back has urged his men to concentrate on the challenge posed by the promoted club on Sunday.

“We face a team who have some interesting young players,” he told Juve TV. “They’ve already got good results against Roma and Napoli.

“In those matches they demonstrated that they can play football.

“We don’t want any surprises, so we’re going to have to give 100 per cent if we want to win.”

Barzagli then commented on the match against the Turkish side, and what winning the Europa League would mean to the Old Lady, with the final at their home ground.

“It was a strange game played on a pitch that was virtually impossible to play on.

“At times you just couldn’t run with the ball.

“We’re not thinking about the Europa League final at the moment. It’s still too early to be turning our attention to that.

“Of course, playing in Turin in the final is a goal of ours.”

Barzagli should be OK for Juve

Sky Sport Italia are confident Andrea Barzagli will play for Juventus against Roma at the weekend despite an injury scare.

The Italian international was replaced after just 30 minutes of Thursday’s 2-0 friendly win over Cuneo after feeling muscle discomfort.

But the Italian broadcasters are today suggesting the former Palermo stopper will start in Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2.

Andrea Pirlo should return to the starting XI after injury, while Claudio Marchisio and Paul Pogba will battle it out for a shirt in midfield.

Carlos Tevez is also being tipped to begin despite his late return to Italy after spending Christmas at home in Argentina.

Juventus probable: Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba (Marchisio), Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente.

Agent: Barzagli renewal soon

Andrea Barzagli’s agent, Claudio Orlandini, is hopeful that his client will soon sign a new contract with Juventus.

The 32-year-old Azzurri international has been plagued by tendon injuries in recent times but, speaking to tuttojuve.com, his agent insisted that a new deal to keep the player with the Old Lady may not be far off.

“We are in discussions,” Orlandini said. “Soon we could reach an agreement.”

The agent has however admitted to not knowing exactly when his client will return to action.

“I’m not sure when he’ll be back to full fitness,” he remarked.

“I don’t have a crystal ball, we are assessing it every so often.

“The problem he is suffering from at the moment is different to the one he has had previously with his tendons.

“At the moment he is looking to overcome a muscular injury and it is not linked to his previous problems.”

Andrea Barzagli’s agent has confirmed that the defender is on the verge of agreeing a new contract with Juventus.

The 32-year-old has been seen as in talks with the Bianconeri over extending his current deal, which expires in June 2015.

Today the player’s agent has indicated once more that those negotiations are progressing nicely.

“The signing of the new contract for Andrea with Juventus is very close,” Claudio Orlandini has told Tuttomercatoweb.

“We are talking with the club and there are no problems whatsoever.

Barzagli back for Juve?

Defender Andrea Barzagli could be fit in time for Juventus’ Europa League Round of 32 clash with Trabzonspor on Thursday, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is reported that the next two days will be decisive in determining whether or not he is ready, but if not Martin Carcares, Leonardo Bonucci and Angelo Ogbonna will all likely start.

Giorgio Chiellini, Simone Pepe and Mirko Vucinic are all definitely ruled out, as is Fabio Quagliarella who was not even named in the Old Lady’s European squad.

La Repubblica are reporting that Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli faces around a month out injured after suffering a recurrence of a calf injury.

The 32-year-old suffered the setback during the warm up before his side’s Serie A match with Genoa last Sunday.

Unlike last time however, it is said that the problem cannot be managed while he continues to play so he now faces the prospect of four weeks on the sidelines.

More bad news for the Old Lady is that Federico Peluso will also miss the next three weeks of first team duty, having picked up a thigh strain.

Damn it, Peluso is out for 3 weeks. But seriously, at least this gives other CB's a chance to play and to prove themselves.

Maybe Caceres can become one of the regulars as Barzagli is aging? What do u think?

Ogbonna is going to replace Barzagli. Caceres is a good defender nothing more.
