According to today's edition of "La Gazzetta dello Sport", there should be only one real novelty in the list Blue: Andrea Barzagli, defender of Juventus and world champion in 2006 in Germany, who will return to National after three years. His final appearance in blue dates back to September 6, 2008, Cyprus-Italy 1-2 in Larnaca, the race for the World Cup qualifiers in 2010. The center replaces the injured Andrew Juventus Frog. On defense, there should be another return to Ogbonna Torino, starring an excellent start to the season in the league of B.
glad to see him back! this guy earned it

Of course he's back... Ranocchia was suspeneded in which broke Prandelli's code of honor, at the same... Bonucci has not started one game.
Barzagli deserves it, he's been on top form.

Can't wait to watch the next game. I hope Prandelli starts a 4-3-1-2 like this:
Maggio...Barzagli...Chiellini...Balzaretti
Marchisio...Pirlo...De Rossi
Giovinco
Balotelli...Rossi
I wanna see Giovinco, Balotelli and Rossi play together. That would be SEXXX...

Barzagli next up for Juventus
Andrea Barzagli is set to become the latest Juventus player to be handed a new contract by the club.
Fabio Quagliarella signed until 2015 on Monday, joining the likes of Paolo De Ceglie, Leonardo Bonucci and Alessandro Matri in committing themselves to the Old Lady.
Centre-back Barzagli will reportedly be the next Bianconeri to put pen to paper on a new agreement in Turin.
The 2006 World Cup winner is only contracted to the Old Lady until June 2013. He will extend until 2014 or 2015.
The former Palermo stopper joined Juve in January 2011 for a nominal fee of €600,000 from German club Wolfsburg.
Barzagli, 30, made 15 League appearances last term and he’s currently on 32 games in Serie A this term.
Goalkeeper Gigi Buffon, contracted until 2013, is also being tipped to extend his stay at the club.

It's hard to believe he's 30 going on 31 on May 8. It doesn't seem like he was that young on the 2006 World Cup team. He's just reaching his prime years for most defenders. He and Pirlo may go down as two of Marotta's greatest bargain signings.

He's my favorite this season, his partnership with Chielini is one of the biggest reasons we're on top

Hopefully he continues his form next season too as he is now a vital part of our team.

Re: - The Wall | Andrea Barzagli #15
I cant believe its taken so long for this to happen
The credit for Barzagli and Pirlo definitely and absolutely has to go to Marotta
Unfortunately, he undoes his good work with the likes of Padoin and Boriello...
Marotta for me has done equal amounts of good and bad work.

Every director makes a few bad moves along with some goods ones like Marotta. Look at Chelsea. About half of their transfers fail and they pay way more than Juve for players and managers.

Re: - The Wall | Andrea Barzagli #15
this is the most overrated player in the planet
this average player is making great performance thanks to the champions around him like: CHIELLINI, LINSHTAINER, VIDAL, MARCHISIO
BARZAGLI would look so terrible at AC MILAN or INTER: he isn't even 50% close to the qualities of TIAGO SILVA and SAMUEL

You are so wrong... Every duel he had with a player in or out the box he won it. Every start wins ball no player got past him. Barzagli is the best Italian defender currently.

I really question whether or not you have been watching Juve matches this season. Barzagli has been our most consistent true defender.

Re: - The Wall | Andrea Barzagli #15
here you got the players rating based on statistics
http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/87
CHIELLINI, VIDAL, MARCHISIO; all have better rating then BARZAGLI
BARZAGLI and BONNUCI statistics are almost similar and considering their age difference BONNUCI is way more successful then him
BARZAGLI is being too much overrated here

You're ridiculous. Did you actually read what those stats stand for? Barzagli plays the most defensive role of all of our CBs. Therefore, the only statistics on that list that really apply to him are Pass Success Percentage (which is very important in Conte's system) and Aerials Duels Won Per Game. Barzagli scores higher than Bonucci and Chiellini in Passing and is second in Aerial Duels Won. He also has received less cards than both players and appeared in more games. You cannot compare Barzagli's offensive stats to Bonucci or Chiellini because Chiellini and Bonucci have a role in set pieces and both are relied upon to move the ball further into the attack. Barzagli's job is to play as our deepest defender.
Really, are you watching the games? Do you honestly believe that the most defensive CB on the best defense in Serie A is overrated?

Re: - The Wall | Andrea Barzagli #15
you need to count everything about a player you don't say DEL PIERO free kicks doesn't count because he that makes him even more special
you take all statistics together and have a results how great is a player what is pretty great on that website
and based on that you have
CHIELLINI> BONNUCI > BARZAGLI
