Jol has been sacked. The way Fulham were going it was inevitable.

Jol was a character, though. I like him. Fulham are cack.

*sigh*
We were totally clueless in attack. Why Coutinho was left on the bench when could possibly not have hoped to counter attack a deep-defending Hull team, I do not know. Poor tactics and too hopeful team-selection - and we really could do with an attacking player in January.

I'm not sure i agree.... the flick by Soldado which set up pretty much his only chance which he should have done better with tbf and the through ball disguised pass to Lennon was also something i can't see Defoe doing.Art Morte wrote:Mole, dude, you're wrong.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:What would Defoe offer which Soldado doesn't? there is zero service and Defoe doesn't offer anything extra outside the box.
Defoe is better at link-up play and making early runs and also at long-range shooting. Soldado is more of a world-class poacher who can also sniff out crosses. The latter method hasn't been working out.
He's not great at it but Defoe is no better, the problem is behind them.

Very interesting PL this. Liverpool were just second but after defeat today are level with Everton in 4th place.
Arsenal probably feel like saints.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Having watched all the Spurs games yet I agree with Mole. Soldado is a box player but he's surprisingly better outside of the box than Defoe. Defoe's play outside of the box is overrated...it's as shite as Soldado's is.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:I'm not sure i agree.... the flick by Soldado which set up pretty much his only chance which he should have done better with tbf and the through ball disguised pass to Lennon was also something i can't see Defoe doing.Art Morte wrote:Mole, dude, you're wrong.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:What would Defoe offer which Soldado doesn't? there is zero service and Defoe doesn't offer anything extra outside the box.

As for Soldado, for someone who is a penalty box striker he's been shite in the penalty box. Not that he's had many opportunities anyway. The problem certainly is behind the striker.
If that problem can't be solved then I'd rather have Spurs play someone like Ade and put on people like Lamela and Siggy on the wings who can finish.
That being said even in the Man City game (well, part of it) and again today, Spurs looked better going forward. Here's to hoping that continues.
Spurs should take the point today and be happy with the result and the performance.

You can quote me on that....not with BR benching his best 2 CBs and not learning from his mistakes.
