Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
I wouldnt have complained if it was a week apart but Liverpool, Dortmund, United in the space of 10 days is a bit too much. Specially with no genuine forwards apart from Giroud available and the team suffering from a bugdanyjr wrote:Arsenal had easy matches compared to everyone else at the beginning of the season and now there's been a few tough opponents lining up. You should have no complaints.
Arsenal still in the driving seat for EPL. It is not the end of the day losing to United at Old Trafford.
MotM for me Phil Jones. He may be the least praised youngster by British media out of the three of Ramsey and Wilshere, but tonight he fought like a warrior and practically overshadowed both Arsenal boys.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Too early to say Arsenal face any threat for championship. Arsenal losing to United at Old Trafford is no big deal. That's been another day in the office for Arsenal as far as I can remember. What makes you champions at the end of the day is consistency not these big matches. And Arsenal have been by far the most consistent team in EPL (so far).GoonerJay29 wrote:There's certainly no out-and-out favourite for the title this season. Most of the contenders seem to be struggling with consistency. Chelsea, Spurs, City and ourselves could our next games and United and Liverpool could lose and nobody would be surprised. In that sense, tonight's result doesn't really concern me much.
For me at least, Arsenal are favourite title contenders. All other teams have been flopping too regularly for me to say they have a chance against possibly one of the most consistent EPL teams I've ever seen.
Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
United played well. I just dont think the game was as one sided as people are claiming. That said, the better team won. See you bastardz at the emirates.

Sore loser taking a new meaning, they beat you plain and simple.1991 wrote:
You played against an injury depleted team at home who just had to play the second best teams in the Premier league & Bundesliga while Manure played one of the worst team in the Premier league, and the worst team in the Champions league, Real sosobad :lol:We could've easily drawn at the end and nobody could say that would be an unfair result. So 'deserve' to win? No, but you won though. You can get credit for your first big win of the season, but the manor of victory wasn't anything to write home about or enough to convince anyone that you're challenging for the title this year. Come back when you can beat Real sosobad maybe we can talk

Did you literally just connect the poor finishing of the Spurs team and heroics of Krul...ExtremistEnigma wrote:Krul has amazing potential as I have said previously but today this is just the case of pathetic finishing from Spurs.. the same problem we faced two seasons back. We used to praise the opposition goalkeepers for their heroics but the problem was our own dreadful finishing.
AVB is tactically inept. Not enough goals in that team. He needs to know that Portuguese League tactics won't work here.
To AVB being a bad manager?

Phil Jones with another big performance today, on par with his game at the Bernabeu. He looks very much like a Phil Neville sort of player to me.

Did Moyes really call Rooney Van Persie's "sidekick"?
Isn't "sidekick" an offensive term? Like diminishing...?

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
I don't understand Moyes. Since his arrival he's been talking Rooney down constantly.
Don't understand why he does that after the guy ran his socks off. To me it is plain stupid to treat a player like that unless he knows something that we don't know.

So, he really said this "sidekick" thing, right? And Sidekick really is a diminishing term?danyjr wrote:I don't understand Moyes. Since his arrival he's been talking Rooney down constantly.

Yeah he did use that terminology. And yes it means he is inferior and subordinate to RVP.

Moyes has used some poor choices of words since he joined Man Utd. He'll get used to being scrutinized and correct himself.danyjr wrote:Yeah he did use that terminology. And yes it means he is inferior and subordinate to RVP.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Rooney is a lot better than RvP. Moyes.
Also, for those calling AVB to get sacked. Settle down, eh. His team is making chances to score 2-3+ goals every game. Their team is just useless infront of goal. Tactics can only do so much. He's not the one in front of goal missing from 3 yards out. lol
Not too sure what's wrong with Soldado to be honest. He used to be very very good at Valencia. Has he scored a goal from open play yet?

Thank your manager. He doesn't tell his team to play attractive football, he just instructs them on how to pick up the points.

I want us to return to the way we played under Mourinho in his first spell here. Organized, efficient and ruthless.
Mata, Oscar, Hazard etc are the entertainment for me not passing the ball around aimlessly with f**k all to show for it.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
I never stated it was a bad thing on how he sets up his team.
He plays effective football, and good on him. His success speaks for itself. But he won't play like how he did in 04/05. He simply has a different squad. You can only work with what you have.
I can't think of any player today that can do a role for your lot that Ballack/Makelele did in the past. Lukaku I guess can be/play like a power forward like Drogba albeit two different type of players. But the rest of the team don't look like they can set up like back then. Half your squad is still very raw.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V3
Tottenham may be making 2-3 chances per game, but that's not accurate...it's more like 2-3 shite chances per game. Soldado has gotten f*ck all for service which explains his goalscoring record. I've seen how clinical he is in Spain.
That being said his finishing today was just crap. Really should have scored...like 5 (bajillion) other Spurs players.
But I agree with you on AVB. Which should be self explanatory as I'm a fan.
That being said if Spurs keep playing this way I might have to stop watching. More than anything I'm a fan of good football and even if I have some loyalty towards Spurs, the games have been terrible and I don't have enough to keep myself through the torture.
AVB shouldn't even be thought of being sacked. The defense is still set up well and provides a solid base that has put Spurs in a good position yet without scoring that much. Even in today's game, minus a defensive lapse, how many chances did Newcastle have the entire game?
That being said it's clear AVB has a lot to work on offensively. A LOT. Really needs to get his shit together in that regard. It's getting my jimmies rustled.
Also TIL Sandro should be first name on the team sheet. Spurs look better offensively and defensively whenever he is on.
