It's not about intelligence imo. It's not because a player relies on his athleticism that he is stupid.
Players who don't rely on their physical strenght do it because they got no choice. they had to learn ( since a young age ) how to master others aspects of the game ...

Even if Bale was fully fit, everyone knew that this deal was bad for RM because of the massive transfer fee they paid. A long-term injury to Bale would just be the sour icing on this enormous, hollow cake.

thats what people kept saying about ronaldo but he seems to prove everyone wrong

he used to only rely on his athleticism and dribbling now he doesn't anymore because he knows he is losing his speed thick and fast. he has become alot more smarter now than before. I am sure Bale can do the same and forget the athleticism part of his game and gain intelligence instead. in fact athleticism doesn't really work much in laliga anyways so he will need to evolve regardless

Ronaldo is faster than ever. He can't dribble like pre-2010 because he lost his agility, he bulked up since he came.

Utter rubbish. Bulkedup? Is this a joke? Ronaldo is still pretty skinny. Ronaldo stopped dribbling like that since 2008 after his ankle injury. He was never really the same.

CR7 was a great dribbler that became a very good dribbler once he hurt his ankle. Bale can't dribble... he's a push and chase type guy: He pushes the ball into an open area and then uses his speed to get past the guy to get to his ball. Well, you can't do that without overwhelming pace.

Bale never was and never will be half the player CR7. The only reason people compare them is because Bale has emulated CR7... and shoots like him.

If Bale gets this surgery, he'll need to completely reinvent himself. Not saying he can't... but it's unlikely. There are way too many holes in his game that his athletic ability have allowed to overcome. He's need to fix most of those holes.
