Bale is making the difference at the moment and at the moment he's no doubt more important and better but for the majority of the season a spurs side without Dembele is a borderline joke.

Almost all of their goals in 2013 have come from Bale. take him out, YOU CAN'T WIN WITHOUT SCORING.

It's way too early. But you are incredibly stubborn, and I admire you trying to force the issue still. after all, you still have the same stance on RVP.

The reasons they were shit at that time wasn't only Dembele, it was also Defoe's dip in form, and Gallas' woeful form.

Almost the same time as Dembele came back, AVB benched Gallas and their defense improved massively and they stopped conceding silly goals

Its not just me that says it though.... practically all Spurs fans say it.

Tbf it is mainly because Huddlestone and Brave Scotty Parker is the midfield but they struggle to do the simple shit they can't even pass the ball properly or create without him.

I don't deny Bale has been the difference maker in recent weeks but the majority of season if Dembele didn't perform then Spurs didn't.

It's a team game gents. TEAM. Dembele needs Bale and Bale needs Dembele. And most importantly, Spurs need them both. Nobody cares who is more important.

Sepi I don't think you are understanding the difference between importance of a player as an asset and importance of a player tactically.

Gareth Bale simply put is Tottenham's best player without a doubt. But is he their most important player, tactically? Absolutely not.

Fact is the system is actually built around Dembele, his strengths and to cover his weaknesses. Like AvB's Porto, it wasn't Hulk or Falcao, it was Joao Moutinho who AvB built the side around.

Without Dembele, Tottenham look toothless. Passes don't connect, let alone channels created, system doesn't function, games aren't won. He not only makes the team tick, he provides the needed catalyst to make the system tick as a whole. He is their metronome.

Gareth Bale is their x-factor, their edge, their most effective player. What you get from Bale is a sequence of extraordinary influences within the final third through an unpredictable event based on the usage of his skill as its not a consistent factor. Dembele's game is a constant, throughout the 90 minutes he provides a continual series of systematic benefits for Tottenahm as without him, Bale doesn't look as effective as he normally does since Dembele is the one creating the decisional basis on creating open spaces for Bale that he can run into.

Mole provided the stats, its not a sequence of coincidence on how poor Tottenham look without him. Bale doesn't add to the system, he adds the end product, if a manager continually relies on the end product without building upon the system, he simply is rendered tactically inept.

Xavi is Barcelona's most important player. Without him they don't look half as good. Without Messi, there is less end product but the influenced isn't sheared like without Xavi. Same thing for Ronaldo who as a whole hinders the system and some of his individuals by his play along with being spoon fed into the play, another example of Mourinho's reliance on individual quality. Carrick and Rooney are United's most important players. Blaise Matudi for PSG, Ricardo Montolivo for Milan, Arteta for Arsenal, I could go on.

We have to learn on where to point out the differences.

I don't think one player can be important, while the other is the best player. The best player has to be the most important too.

Dembele is one of the most important players for Spurs.

Dembele is a glorified Ramires/Sami Khedira. Good player obviously but his impact on games is beyond overstated.
