Wtf, started playing career mode properly and this transfer window/scouting system is wank

So I tell my 5* rated scout to find the right type of players for me at Juventus... he comes back with these players who I know from real life are f*cking useless

Why would I buy Sau when I have Tevez and Llorente

Why would I buy some Bologna bench player? F*cking stupid. It doesn't match you to the right players at all.

tbf, I scouted Sau as well and ended up signing him for my Roma team.

He's actually quite good (great pace and shot power) and has displaced Ljajic in my starting XI.

I also dislike how it makes you 'scout' players to get even a remote idea of how good they are

This is insulting to people who watch real football, I don't need to spend 1 month scouting Ibra to tell myself that he is, infact good at shooting.

Though I do believe I have found some gems anyway. I'm doing my best Walter Sabatini impression in Argentina and Brazil at the moment.

True. I know what they were going for, and that is making you actually have to work to find players who are suitable. And i'm all for that.

But they've gone and done it to the extent that it takes far too long scouting players out and you end up waiting through the entire January window just for your scout to reccommend players that have no business being anywhere near your starting XI.

i literally just search players i want, don't scout them, enquire with team about player, get the ball park of what they are asking, then low ball them and get a better price and repeat!

i know these players well enough from fifa 13 and real life to know who is shite and who isn't

Same here. Search players that I know are good in real life, scout, inquire, bid.

Once my scout suggested me Cambiasso lol.

He was like " imo, De Rossi and Pogba are not good enough you need Cambiasso imo "

It's fine in the first few seasons where we all know who is and isn't good

But in 5 years time when most of the top players start regressing down 1 level every week, you need your scouts. Or you could be sad and buy the same 5 players in like 2020 with every one of your teams. Which is boring.

So when we need the scouts, they become useless. Because they reccommend players who are overall 70-75 when you're trying to bring in genuine quality.

I scout players I need long term, EG, Cambiasso retired for me last year so let my scouts find a replacement, they suggested Rodwell so I got him.

Works like that but I have a good idea of short term changes so I just search those ones.

so, I noticed that if your players is over 21 and his contract is running out, that he is free to sign with another club during the winter window, agreeing to stay with your club until the season ends and then move over for free to his new club at the end of the season.

I've noticed it happen amongst the computer teams as well. It was just announced Lewa is joining Real Madrid at the end of the season for free since his contract is running out and Dortmund didnt renew it.

So is there a way for me to do this as well? I would love to catch some top players on there last year of contract and snap them up for free

You need to set the search filter accordingly. Make it like players who's contracts are running out to be showed to you. You can sign them if their contract has 6 months left on it

Oh I see. I have to do a search as ''transfer listed", click on each player, and then it tells you if that player is on expiry contract and you get the option of approaching the player to agree to join when his contract expires or a flat out purchase for that winter window

playing career pro mode, striker for Preston North End in League One football....so much grit and steel these bastards can't get me the ball I have to do everything alone, can't wait for my dream move to some top division side

I hate playing as a pro for that reason. You have to do everything.

I always end up playing as a false 9 AM. I basically pick up the ball from midfield, pass and dribble and score the goals.

Kevin frickin Davies is my strike partner....he's a disgrace to call a professional footballer, how did this scrub ever play in the Premier League ffs

Playing CPU in career mode every game = 11 men behind the ball, strikers tracking back and lower teams defenders feel like 99 rated defenders.
