Re: CL Week 2 Discussion
Can't remember the last time we destroyed a team like this. Fantastic performance.
If we can win against Marseille at home then we will need 1 point from 3 games against Dortmund (H + A ) and Napoli Away

Italy hasnt had a big tournament for a long time. Thats what has happened. Big tournament = new stadiums = more money = better players. Although Napoli spent their money wrong.. that defense is pathetic. Same goes for Milan.S wrote:Nothing.Just that Italian teams are nowhere as good as they are made out to be.animal.crackers wrote:What's happening to Serie A?...

Re: CL Week 2 Discussion
LOL this forum. Italian teams go unbeaten in Europe last European week then its "Serie A is strong"
Now a rough start and questions arise on the league again.
Arsenal's set-up was always tailor-made to exploit Benitez' side. Wenger time and time again has resorted to this set-up specifically catered to Benitez who has historically struggled against Wenger the most.
Switching to a 4-man who thrived in a 3 man without any inherent reinforcements is dire. Already 2 Serie A teams have exposed Napoli's shaky defence with a similar set-up to Arsenal and it has not been addressed. Placing Pandev for an injured Higuain was the worst call given he is the last person who should be leading a 4-2-3-1.
Its tactically a very nascent side yet I called a 2-0 (not bragging) pre-game due to the obvious exploitation of Napoli that was going to take place tonight.
Arsenal and Wenger deserve plaudits for their performance yet Napoli were always going to run headfirst into a wall without any changes specifically catered for Emirates.

Nobody said that.Even if it was said in the heat of the moment by some everyone deep down knows Italian teams are just not that good and are lagging behind their German,Spanish and English counterparts in terms of everything, soon French.Arquitescu wrote:LOL this forum. You can see today how the high tempo fast paced game exposes Italian teams. This is what modern football is all about.

I predicted Arsenal vs napoli would be won in midfield
Arsenal don't play posession footie anymore so playing counter attack vs Wenger is a pipe dream
sadly, Rafa benitez was smoking the pipe

Milan got robbed in round 2, bs offside call, handball, etc.... if we scored first i doubt Ajax could have equalized.

The chant was ''Spend some *bleep* money''...which he did.
Tryna paint Arsenal fans as fickle is one of the dumbest cliches around when the reality is the furthest thing from it

Re: CL Week 2 Discussion
“With Balotelli you know he can score from scratch and create theatre. That cost us two points,” slammed De Boer after the 1-1 draw.
“This point comes with a bitter taste. At the end of the day I can live with a point, but to concede with the penalty was disappointing. There are always moments of contact in the box. It’s about letting go at the right moment and Van Der Hoorn did that. It was ridiculous that penalty was awarded.
“We dominated the first half with very good positional play and also had our chances. After the break we made more wrong choices and were restless. Milan were more in the game.
“If you create three or four good chances in today’s football, you must score at least one.”
