Re: CL Week 2 Discussion
Prior to this season, it was easy to get hits on websites dissing us. That explains the general anti-Arsenal sentiments expressed in mainstream English media. But now with us winning 10 in a row, there will be a shift of focus to other teams. That said, we have the "8 years without a trophy" monkey riding on our back, and unless we do something about that, this thing will only go away temporarily, at best.aleumdance wrote:Bloody english media

He was fantastic tonight . Seriously , i see him playing in Bundesliga next summer , although i do hope Olympiacos will keep him. Fans here love him and he does well , i always liked him and supported him even at his difficult times. His last goal tonight with the right foot outside the area , being a lefty , was simply exceptional. 2nd hattrick to the season alreadyLex wrote:Mitroglou with dat hat-trick This guy makes Olympiakos tick and has a knack for scoring spectacular goals

Re: CL Week 2 Discussion
For Benitez and Napoli it was well on the cards , at least that's what i always thought it would be . As for Juventus i don't really know because i didn't see the game other than the dying minutes , i thought there would be a comeback before the game ; i even placed a bet for them to lose in the first half and i got it right(though i lost it for Paris ffs) . Game was going exactly like i expected , but then just after they took the lead , they conceded lmfao...aleumdance wrote:Felliani getting ripped apart on redcafe..

I think Mancini will do very well with Galatasaray, going with a team which lost by Real at home 1-6 , to draw Juventus in Italy is quite the progress and he's been there for days. You don't just forget such CL nights so soon , that goes for any team. Tbh , Juventus have really made the 2nd place wide open after this draw. If they fail to win Real at least once and Galatasaray win the next two games , anything can happen after that . Galatasaray have quality and a very , very strong home , i wouldn't write them off one bit .
This should be interesting. And funny .

Re: CL Week 2 Discussion
It is unbelievable to me that Pellegrini plays 442 against Bayern.
As soon as the the team sheets where announced, City fans knew the midfield was lost.
We matched 2 midfielders with their midfield 4 (Muller false 9). Sometimes it was 2 vs. 5 or 6.
Piss poor tactics. I wish Boateng hadn't fouled Yaya when he was sent off. 3-2 would have been interesting.

City's tactics were unbearably bad. At least under Mancini there was a semblance of entertainment yet here I see a bland, dull and uninspired City to which has their inconsistent midfield transition up forward only for reliance on individual brilliance. Hart's incompetence today summed up the non-existent gameplan set-out by Pelle as he quite simply was out managed by Pep. The latter who was allowed to preserve his depth, take his foot off the pedal and dominated the team in their own fortress.
however, i do appreciate pellegrini havin a go at making city a team with somewhat of a philosophy. today, the philosophy was complete bs tho - he got it all wrong.
but i still think we'll see some very decent stuff from city this season.

You can't possess the ball when our tactics are like they were.danyjr wrote:animal.crackers wrote:It is unbelievable to me that Pellegrini plays 442 against Bayern.

You can't even win the ball in the first place. Midfield 2. WTF??!!!
A midfield 2 against 3. Often times 4 when Muller dropped deep.
Sometimes 2 against 6. Yes, 6.
Yaya and Fern just ran and ran and ran. They were gassed, especially Yaya.
No surprise. They were ALWAYS going to eat bypassed.
Fernandinho pressures Kroos, Kroos just passes it to Schweinsteiger or one of their plethora of open men, right before Dinho tackles.
What can he do? It's futile.
At some points, Bayern were passing the ball around making us chase on purpose just to tire Dinho and Yaya.
No chance for our midfield two tonight.
Tactics let them down.

Rewatched the game.Who was the co-commentator in the Juve-Galatasaray game ? lol.He was such a pain to hear.I completely understand that we were awful and he had a right to diss Juve all the time,i also understand why he was dissing Italian football constantly saying 'If this is what Italy's best got to offer, then the quality of Italian football has really gone down',i mean he said this atleast 2-3 times.Afterall the English love to shit on Italian teams so thats all ok.I dont mind that at all.
But what i really dint understand is the retarded crucification of Pogba.I mean at every instant. He had a bad game sure but totally blowing down on the youngster was so harsh and he also implied that 'maybe Fergie was right to let him go' and 'the man never gets it wrong'.I mean just shut the *bleep* up kindly.
You have to understand where my distaste for EPL is coming from.I have to hear these retarded things almost on a daily basis be it on commentary or anywhere else.

Re: CL Week 2 Discussion
I think you are referring to the Sky Sports game on the co-commentator.
I dont know his name but he is always like this, I remember one occasion in 2010 groups he said Barca "are a shadow of the past teams" even though they went on to win the damn thing.
Maybe he is just a jealous Man U fan so took the opportunity to say Pogba's not that good and they are better having the mighty Carrick instead?

He does a lot of our games for Sky's highlights show Football First and he's constantly telling us to play two up front and get the ball up to Cisse during the game.
I can't stand him, another ex player who is clueless about the game stuck in the 70s.
He also has a knack of hating on foreigners, while defending English players with any means possible as well as being for dirty tackles and telling players to get up when they are on the floor in pain.
He once told Cabaye to get up after being on the end of a studs first tackle.... moments later off on a stretcher and out for 3 weeks.
He's a f*cking moron, don't know a single person who likes him.
