Argentina easily brush aside Vinotinto 3-0 while Chile fall in Lima to Peru.. Oh my, things are getting dire in Chile, as Peru are basically back in the race for a World Cup spot.

Bottled it. So close...oh well guess we'll take our 3 points from the good ol' US of A
Good for Peru. I'll be rooting for them.
Also who is the top scorer for concacaf right now?

Deon McCauley of Belize with 11 goals, while Peter Byers of Antigua and Barbuda has 10 goals in all Qualifying Matches. Both strikers eliminated in the 2nd Round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, so they can't accumulate anymore goals.
Players in the Hex:
9 goals - Blas "El Conejo" Perez (Panama)
7 goals - Clinton "Deuce" Dempsey (USA), Alvaro "Sabo" Saborio (Costa Rica), Jerry Bengtson (Honduras)
5 goals - Javier "El Chicharito" Hernandez (Mexico)
4 goals - Luis "El Depredador" Tejada (Panama) y Carlo "El Cocherito" Costly (Honduras)
rest have 1-2 goals.

Re: The Official 2014 Road to Brazil World Cup Qualifying Thread
Few more African games in progress at the moment. Tanzania beat Morocco 3-1 earlier.. Morocco in a dire situation right now.
Ivory Coast lead the group after 3 games with 7 points after whopping Gambia 3-0 in Abidjan, while Tanzania trail Les Elephanes in second place with 6 points. If Tanzania find a result in Morocco, then the group would be decided on the second to last match day as Tanzania would host Ivory Coast in a elimination match for first place.

One time German hopeful, Sidney Sam, has officially pledged his future to Nigeria.. the papers for the switch have already been sent to FIFA, and now its a matter of waiting for FIFA's letter of clearance to the Nigerian FA, which should be incoming in the next days.

Hope Akpan of Reading FC has also pledged his future recently to Nigeria, making it two potential suitors to bolster the Nigerian Mid that saw them tie Kenya in stoppage time at home in their World Cup Qualifier last night.

Re: The Official 2014 Road to Brazil World Cup Qualifying Thread
FIFA have sanctioned Estadio Olimpico shortly after the Honduras vs. Mexico game. FIFA Disciplinarian executive was on hand to see if Honduras would violate any of the warnings that were already given to them.. and well.. they failed with flying colors.. Things were thrown onto the pitch during the game, Fireworks were openly fired in the packed crowd, and a fan casually walked onto the field to greet Chicharito Hernandez before being escorted out.. Estadio Olimpico will face a short ban and a fine. Honduras have already confirmed that their next home game will be in Estadio Nacional in Tegucigalpa, it will also be a night game.
Oh and Panama will also run the risk of having their home stadium banned, El Estado Rommell Fernandez, tomorrow night if objects are thrown on and off the field against the Honduran crowd and players. This coming after their stadium already received a warning following Panama's home game against Honduras last round in World Cup Qualifying where the fans threw Tear Gas and Smoke Bombs into the Honduran visitor section of the stadium.

Re: The Official 2014 Road to Brazil World Cup Qualifying Thread
Everyone ready for tonight's games? So many good, important matches it's nearly ridiculous!
Serbia v Scotland
Wales v Croatia
Denmark v Bulgaria
Ireland v Austria
Turkey v Hungary
Montenegro v England
France v Spain
Four South American matches where there's a lot at stake,
Chile v Uruguay and
Venezuela v Colombia
probably the biggest games there.
Also there's
Mexico v USA
and as I write this, Australia are 0 - 1 down to Oman at home
It's days like this one when these international breaks feel quite damn good

Well, I'm curious if France can actually do it and defeat Spain. This would make some really interesting play-offs for the last 4 spots later on, especially if Portugal will go to the play-offs as well.

So if Japan at least draw now against Jordan, they will be the first country qualifying for 2014(with Brazil)

Australia's draw against Oman, mean Japan needs only a draw against Jordan to qualify for the World Cup.
Uzbekistan up 1-0 on Lebanon through Server Djeparov.

Massive win for Uzbekistan. That now puts them 4 clear of Iran and 1 point ahead of Korea.. BUT, Uzbekistan have also played one game more. Gonna be a tight group.

Japan fall on the road to Jordan 2-1.. this after Jordan goalie stopped a Japanese penalty kick which could've very well been the equalizer and Japan's direct ticket to Brazil.

Argentina satisfied with a draw. 1-1
i dont disagre, what a horrible place to play a game. forwards didnt do anything special, they really didnt like playing there. messi standing still for 5 minutes, just spectating, with di maria on the other side doing the same. who whats to play at 3600m height, ridicilous.
