Club is making absolutely damn sure everything is in order, so I'm not surprised this is taking so long to finalise. It's a historic deal for us, after all.

When Cesc left in 2011, just about the only player of comparable age (though MO slightly younger) who I thought would have been a sufficient replacement - and even upgrade - would have been Özil. IMO.

Let's not make Özil our savior & messiah, of course. It may take him a little while to mesh with the rest of the squad. But I think we can all agree he fits Wenger's call for "top, top, top quality"! Twisted Evil

This also means Bendtner will stay at the club and be our 2nd choice... this was the plan all along. Now Arsenal will announce Özil so we can forget about this very quickly.

It's probably too late to get a striker in now. All well and good saying we should go all out for Muriel or Benteke, but clubs won't sell unless they can bring in a replacement. With two and a half hours to go, that's very unlikely.
