Was just about to rant about his comments.
How he still has a job I have no idea.

I think out of the big clubs in Europe,us and United have had the worst summers.
We had glaring issues at CB,they at CM.Both failed to address their issues.
To make matters worse,we sold Thiago and they signed Fellaini for 27 mil pounds. 

United was worse, at least we got Neymar.

We also got a good coach.

So now we should start to focus on who the best CBs are that arent going to be cup tied during the January window. Since we now know which clubs/players are in Europe and which arent

Even if our club doesnt buy anybody, it's good to see our available options for the winter window

To sum up our transfer this year:

The positive:
- Neymar

The negative:
- Thiago
- Villa for peanuts
- No CB
- No defensive LB (perhaps not as bad)
- Not cashing on Valdes and bringing a new keeper

WE ARE A DISASTER FOR THE LAST 3-4 YEARS!!!

Somehow, deep inside, I hope we get hammered again by the likes of Bayern in CL so that finally this joke of management gets some grip with reality.

The positives:

- Neymar
- Neymar forcing Perez to pay € 100M for Bale AND sell Özil
- gettind rid of an overrated, injury-prone bit part player for € 25M to make room for a far superior player in Fabregas
- getting rid of Villa's massive wages
- not panic-buying or overpaying for mediocre centerbacks like Sakho or David Lulz
- keeping Valdes who already rescued us points in La Liga and won us the Supercopa

Negatives:

- Tito's health issues

Thiago is better than Fabregas. At least better than 2011-13 Cesc.

Two different players

Two different players but up to this point one has far outperformed the other. Unfair to compare them directly but in terms of each players performances then Thiago wins it outright every time and that's not arguable.

Our summer has been terrible. Failure to address some of the key weaknesses in the squad while only strengthening one area. I guess I'm happy we did at least strengthen one area, but overall we failed hard. Zubi is an idiot.

Mole and everyone can talk about tactics all they want but the fact of the matter is tactics take you so far (in some cases, very far if we press very well) and as it stands our CB's and our depth in the CB area as well as LB area is a joke and needs to be fixed. We failed to do that.

Zubi should be fired. His comments saying it's very "hard" to sign a CB for Barça are pathetic and Rosell said he chose Tata Martino. What's Zubi's joke exactly? If he had dignity, he would resign considering he doesn't do his job well and that the President invades his area.

Talking about history and offering such a pathetic excuse to not sign a CB is obsurd.

I fear we will be saddled with this guy for some years still.

Zubi is a clown but he's right. There aren't many suitable centerback talents out there AND available which would improve Barcelona. And no, totally unproven talents like Managala who would only be sold for huge sums doesn't guarantee improvement just because they possess some of the right basic characteristics like height and physicality. We tried for Marquinhos, PSG outbid us. Sakho is a clown. Every PSG fan in the world is happy they got rid of him (PSG don't sell quality players). Go and read PSG forums. Luiz, Silva etc. are out of question. Verthongen would probably cost € 150 million considering that it's Levy who we would negotiate with. Agger is a huge Liverpool fan and won't ask to leave unless the club wants to get rid. Which Liverpool do not want. Hummels is too similar to Pique. You don't want to play with 2 pretty boys who think they are Beckenbauer 2.0. Plus I doubt his availability. Very loyal player who said about Götze that there was no reason to leave a club like Dortmund. So who else? Inigo Martinez maybe who is expensive as *bleep* because Basque clubs don't sell and he'd cost € 30 million + VAT and isn't worth that amount at all.

Nope sorry, there is no arguement out there to convince me the likes of Mangala, Sakho and actually at least half a dozen players you have not named are worse than Mascherano, Adriano or heaven forbid Busquets at the back.

You're hating Mascherano for the sake of it. When in reality he has been better than Pique this season and hasn't committed any mistakes at all. Let's quickly analyze all 3 goals we conceded so far this season.

Atletico Madrid: David Villa scoring from PIQUE'S zone on the left side with Pique having no clue whatsoever what's going on behind his back.

Atletico Madrid Arda Turan chance, big save from Valdes: Pique sliding in and getting schooled by Arda.

Valencia first goal by Postiga: Pique "marking" Postiga.

Valencia second goal: Iniesta stationed at the near post and getting outjumped. Which would have happened even if we had a 7 ft. tall centerback because the centerback wouldn't be stationed at the near post anyway. He'd be in the middle where most of the traffic is.

Once again we can have this discussion all night long but Sakho is not better than Mascherano and I don't even understand this discussion because as things stand we should be looking for a Pique replacement, not a Mascherano one. Guardiola has seen this ages ago in his last season with us and benched Pique and played Puyol-Mascherano. Let's not ignore this.

On a sidenote. This section also has a horrible bias against Alba and a chronic blind eye when it comes to Alves' "performances".



Alves is nowhere to be seen to defend the cross in HIS zone. Where is our RIGHT BACK? Instead Mascherano is covering his ass while Alves is half-heartedly jogging back. Yet this forum has once again managed to put blame on Alba for this goal. LMAO.

Do you agree or not that we are short at the back?We dont have a third CB right now.
Have not seen Sakho a lot but he is rated highly.Besides the point is that,at 15 mil,there is virtually no risk.If he works great.If he doesnt we can recoup most of the money.
Then there is that Romanian guy who Spurs signed for cheap.Again supposed to be great.Last year missed out on Vertonghen for cheap.

Point is that we are missing out on value signings by only going for the unrealistic big names.

I think Dede is worthy of another look in the winter, as he will be one of the few names not going to cost over 30m and he will not be cup tied. I never really followed his career but it appears he is still putting in strong performances. And as a Brazilian I'm sure that will instantly get Rosell's attention.

We cant scout properly in our own backyard and you expect us to scout players in Brazil.

Point noted, but we already have a body of work on Dede. It wouldn't require any further scouting, just looking at old tapes

Isn't he 25 already and just signed for a new club?

I agree. We need a CB. Although it's not as drastic as people make out. Puyol will be back soon after the international break and knowing Puyol, he will still give us a lot. If he doesn't deliver, there is still the winter market. We don't need to panic-buy scrubs.

The point with Sakho is: he really isn't highly rated. Except maybe in some video game. Here's what a PSG fan wrote about him, discussing with a Liverpool fan:

Bad attitude. He can't handle competing with other CBs. And he tends to like complaining in the medias as if he was a victim.

Bad on the field. Slow and bad placement. He's not calm enough too, and as a result, he tends to just do clearing shots every times he gets the ball in defence.

PSG only used him a lot because of other Cbs being out or injured

Technically superb? It what world are you living. I am a PSG fan who follow every match, and he's nowhere technically superb, stop the drugs.

And since he became big physically he's slow and even Alex who's big too got better jumping ability. Bad trade because he was better before he got 10kg of muscles.

He has better chance to end up benched by next december and to throw a tantrum in british medias over how he's too good to be benched, "he" the great Sakho.

But if his transfer makes you happy, good for you. PSG is very happy to have got 23M euros in return.
