Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
Is it surprising though? Mou likes more athletic players and De Bruyne and Oscar both Mou's way of playing than Mata does.
Mou was always going to have to do something to fit this squad to his style of play.
Oscar, Mata and Hazard is too weak defensively for Mou's liking.
If they get a striker, i'll probably change my opinion on Chelsea winning the league because he's actually doing what i thought he wouldn't benching star player to fit his own needs as a manager.

Mou gave Mata a chance last game and he was pretty bad.I think de Bruyne should start after what he did in pre season and vs Hull

Mata could slot in as an AM he wouldn't need to do THAT much defensive work with Ramires behind him
Also Oscars defensive work is underrated

de Bruyne is a great player tbh, can't blame Mou for starting him.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
For this game,I think Chelsea are playing more of a (4-3-2-1) With Hazard staying behind the Striker and Shurrlle and Oscar changing positions constantly capitalising on defence-splitting passes from De Bruyne and Hazard.
As for Mata,I think he'll play a good number of games but it will mostly be in any other position other as an AM if in a 4-2-3-1.I think Mourinho likes the Attacking Midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 to drop down and act as a 3rd man in midfield to collect the ball and distribute or for defensive purposes.
Prediction:Win for Chelsea.Goal from a setpiece and another from Oscar.Unsure about final score.
Hoping for 4-2 for Chelsea with Rooney putting the 2 for United.

This. Looked something like five times more dangerous against Hull than Mata did against Aston Villa. Works hard, too.urbaNRoots wrote:de Bruyne is a great player tbh, can't blame Mou for starting him.
Should be an insanely interesting game, both on individual and team level.

Imagine if Rafa benched Mata and played without a natural striker though, there would be heads gone

I am stunned. What a statement that would be from Moyes.Art Morte wrote:Btw, no one mentioning yet that Rooney is starting
Also, i am quite happy Schurrle getting a chance against a big team. I hope he relishes this chance today

Tbf to Mata, he's suffering from lack of preseason plus a nagging injury. I wasn't surprised he played a shit game against Villa.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V2
You look at Mou's entire career he's only ever had one AM who doesn't defend much.
With Hazard already there its highly unlikely he will play two weak defensively AMs.
In his mind its Hazard or Mata with Oscar and De Bruyne providing the work rate and athleticism. ( obviously quality too but they are not in the team for that)
