Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Balague is definitely not a Barcelona fan. What a load of BS. He hates them and was the only one sticking up for Mourinho and saying players have to much power while hunter kept gagging on Pep and Barcelona's metaphorical phallus. The hate here for him is unfounded and ridiculous. Hunter can go to hell tbh. Balague is the only reason I watch revista.

Balague is an Espanyol fan and to be fair to him, he has many eyes and ears in Spanish football, regularly gets exclusives.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
According to AS there is a hotel room reserved for Bale on monday which is probably the day he will be presented
they also say this would mean no box is needed as he may attract a full house instead with the arrival of people from holiday and stuff

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Seriously Flo sucks at negotiating. 100m for a unhappy player that didn't even have pre-season with them? WTF
Levy would be screwed with a unhappy Bale and no money from Madrid, he would be forced to sell him for something of 80m instead had Flo let it go on longer
Now we're probably losing CR for f*cking Bale. Idiot Flo

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Spurs didn't need to sell Bale even though they spent as much money as they did. People have that misconception. Spurs could have held onto Bale if they wanted to.
Either way, it's not Flo. It's Levy.
You don't f*ck with Levy.

But but but Bale is fast and has a good shot and won premier league player of the year... twice!
100 million is a bargain, imagine if he won it 3 times!

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Yeah, he would still have a unhappy player in his squad and A LOT less money.CBarca wrote:Spurs didn't need to sell Bale even though they spent as much money as they did. People have that misconception. Spurs could have held onto Bale if they wanted to.

This is a win situation for Spurs, keeping Bale would be worse imo. Levy would be forced to sell Bale in the end had Flo handled this better

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Why would CR leave?
In terms of prestige, there is no place better for him to be...
In terms of trophies... With the new look team and Bale (presumably) on the opposite flank, surely Madrid WILL win a f*** load, not just this season, but for the foreseeable future...
Where would he go? United? Think his chances are better there? No ways...
Only reason he'd go is if he loses his starting place in the team, which is very very unlikely.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Well in reality Spurs have spent net about 70 million this summer if you include surplus from last summer I believe. All of that can be covered by the owners if Spurs really had to.urbaNRoots wrote:ExplainCBarca wrote:Spurs didn't need to sell Bale even though they spent as much money as they did. In reality would Spurs spend that kind of money and not sell Bale? Nah, if they didn't sell him this summer, they would have next summer. That's just the way Spurs work. But to say Spurs had to sell Bale because of the money being spent is incorrect. Spurs could have held onto Bale for another year and if it absolutely had to happen, if Spurs couldn't sell Bale at all, Spurs could have covered the money. Spurs aren't poor.
This isn't counting the new TV money. Of which could probably reduce the summer spending even more to about 50 million pounds. Easily covered by the wealth Spurs have.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Bale has released a statement in which he said: "I have had six very happy years at Tottenham but it's the right time to say goodbye.
"We've had some special times together over the years and I've loved every minute of it.
"I would like to thank everyone at the Club; the Chairman, Board, staff, coaches and players and, most of all, the fantastic fans, who I hope will understand this amazing career opportunity.
"I am not sure there is ever a good time to leave a club where I felt settled and was playing the best football of my career to date. I know many players talk of their desire to join the club of their boyhood dreams but, I can honestly say, this is my dream come true.
"I am well aware that I would not be at the level I am today were it not for, firstly Southampton, and then Spurs, standing by me during some of the tougher times and affording me the environment and support they have.
"Tottenham will always be in my heart and I'm sure that this season will be a successful one for them. I am now looking forward to the next exciting chapter in my life, playing football for Real Madrid."
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said: "Gareth was a player we had absolutely no intention of selling, as we look to build for the future.
"He is a player whose career we have fostered and developed, and he was only a year into his new four-year contract.
"Such has been the attention from Real Madrid and so great is Gareth's desire to join them, that we have taken the view that the player will not be sufficiently committed to our campaign in the current season.
'We have, therefore, with great reluctance, agreed to this sale, and do so in the knowledge that we have an exceptionally strong squad.
"We wish Gareth all the best in the future and he shall always be welcome at
(White Hart) Lane."
