Re: Messi's influence in world football
Yep I recently read on the airplane magazine about the German culture and football ruling since 2000 that this is what was required and look at the great rewards nowadays. I've really grown to apprecaited the German way of thinking of doing things lately, very professionalrwo power wrote:Or maybe it is because football became more organised, added more expertise in dietary, sports medical and coaching methods. I can mainly speak about Germany, but from the year 2000 on, all 1st and 2nd league clubs were forced to set up youth academies to obtain their Bundesliga licence with professional coaches, physicians, teachers, dietary experts, media coaches etc, to teach the upcoming footballers how to behave properly on and off the pitch. No Messi involvement there whatsoever, but top coaching in all areas of life. That's the reason why the current crop of young players in Germany are better educated and trained than any generation before them.Badamdar wrote:I was talking about "Messi changing football world" not ordinary people. Players see Messi's way the best way to become the best in the world and they follow Messi's way (off the pitch too). Kids realize how the best player should behave and they get lesson. In Messi's era there are less night club stories, less arrogance, more charities, less tricks on the pitch, less "star like feeling".
Thats interesting, in Asia from what I know, BMX and Benz we refer to are always the 2 brand representing prestige and wealth meaning most rich ppl choose to buy these to as an identity or show casing themselves Audi also grown popular lately.rwo power wrote:Well, of course people use imports, too, but especially with cars, you can see a majority of German cars on the streets here. That's why for example Audi (Bayern), VW (Wolfsburg), BMW (St.Pauli, Frankfurt), Mercedes (German NT) are rather prominent in football sponsoring (BMW more with regional sponsorings as they made a huge mistake and allowed Audi to snatch Bayern as partner, and BMW doesn't want to play second fiddle to Audi XD). Opel very recently decided to get a contract with Borussia Dortmund to jump onto the bandwagon, too.BarcaLearning wrote:Curious about Germany culture...does that mean they are pretty much themselves and not get influenced a lot from foreign things? I have no idea but guess it could be something like the French where they just think their own things are good enough, no need to look too much into foreign things if u know what I mean?
Then every Bundesliga team has a different German beer exclusively at their stadiums for the catering (e.g. Schalke's stadium Veltins-Arena is even named after the beer brand they use).
If you look at the shirt sponsors, you will find a majority of German companies, too: Bayern - German Telekom, Wolfsburg - Volkswagen, Dortmund - Evonik, Werder Bremen - Wiesenhof, Stuttgart - Mercedes-Benz, Hoffenheim - SAP, BMG - Postbank, Hannover - TUI, Nürnberg - NKD, Mainz - Entega, Freiburg - Ehrmann, Augsburg - AL-KO, Hertha - Deutsche Bahn. The current exceptions: Schalke - Gazprom, HSV - Emirates, Braunschweig - Seat, Eintracht Frankfurt - Alfa Romeo.

So yeah, I guess Germans usually favour German brands. ^^ (And actually not only Germans, or we wouldn't be pretty high up with exports world-wide XD)
Funny about the exclusive beer brands, tough on those that dont like that particular brand if they visit that stadium then?
From the healthy look of the setupo, the German league can only get better, in the short term I would say good luck to Dortmund, they really have the base to keep evolving into a club that can be like Bayern's status it seems.

Well, you probably heard about that stereotype about Germans being efficientBarcaLearning wrote:Yep I recently read on the airplane magazine about the German culture and football ruling since 2000 that this is what was required and look at the great rewards nowadays. Here the German cars are obviously mainstream, as most stuff is of course cheaper where it is coming from.BarcaLearning wrote:Thats interesting, in Asia from what I know, BMX and Benz we refer to are always the 2 brand representing prestige and wealth meaning most rich ppl choose to buy these to as an identity or show casing themselves :PAudi also grown popular lately.
Well, they have to live with it. It is the same with the FIFA World Cup. You only get the beer from their main sponsor, whether you like it or not, if you visit World Cup matches.BarcaLearning wrote:Funny about the exclusive beer brands, tough on those that dont like that particular brand if they visit that stadium then?
Well, they will need quite a little more time to reach Bayern's status as Bayern is always a bit in front and they have shrewd business people at the helm.BarcaLearning wrote:From the healthy look of the setupo, the German league can only get better, in the short term I would say good luck to Dortmund, they really have the base to keep evolving into a club that can be like Bayern's status it seems.

Eh, they know Rooney, but not Messi?jibers wrote:Nope, they just don't watch football. The fact that people think footballers are influential sums uptheworld tbh.Nirgall wrote:You friends are girls, Americans , or what?jibers wrote:Lol. Messi's influence
The only footballers my friends know are Rooney, Ronaldo and beckham.
If you live in Manchester, then i am sure your friends watched 09' and 11' CL finals. They should know Messi.

But the bit about Germans being efficient, I guess u just mean not everyone? Overall thats the reputation anyway, compared to many other places in Europe and the world.
