He has become the fat version Ronaldo, without the injury excuse and with less talent.Mr Nick09 wrote:kid is 18. his goal was really nice, great technique on and off the ball. drags the defense on the right and then cut left to make separation, control, goal. simple. his run was very nice.
benzema? he becane very lazy, would rather have the ball in his feet so he can play one twos. that's what he likes.
I know he was his idol but he has gone too far. The Benzema who ripped Man Utd them years ago seems lost.

I am waiting for Cavani to get going in the league, but i am not very reassured by PSG this season. I dont think they win it again but that's me. I just hope that Thiago Motta stays healthy because he makes PSG better than Verratti.

Benzema hate is pretty laughable now. Horrible player both Rooney and Benzema. How dare they score 20-30 goals and dish out over 10 assists every year.
You guys just have no appreciation for football players. You have to categorize... if a player doesn't fit your predefined categories, your brain shuts down = he must not be good.
Rooney and Benzema define their play by reading the game. They can help build up, make the assist or score the goal. They don't fit that neat little compartment that most need.

Honestly disappointed in your comments Dani... i write it off as not watching him play and just going by the comments of the geniuses on this board.

Who said he are horrible? I love Benzema even now as much as I possibly can considering who he plays for...but I am disappointed in what he has become, he should be better.

true, Mole seems to be one of the few who realize Rooney is United's most important player and continues to be despite not scoring 25 goals a seasonGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Not at all but hey what ever floats your boat i'm not going to bother explaining myself.sportsczy wrote:Benzema hate is pretty laughable now. Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
Not directed at you Mole... people just can't separate the fact that:
A- Benz is not the lead striker at Madrid and has to fit around CR7 and has done so great when given the chance. Rhythm player... so rotation is bad for him.
B- France NT has a pure winger, Valbuena and whoever plays RW that callup. None of those guys have scoring instinct. At Lyon, Benz played off of Fred or Govou, who were strikers as well. Really, he's never been comfortable being the lone guy because he's not good in the air and likes to gather the ball outside the box. Then you have also France playing with mids that play very low in Matuidi, Pogba and Cabaye.
He could do well alone if he were trained like that at club level... but he's being used as the furthest thing from. So to expect to just slot in and become a lone striker on NT when you play 5-6 games a year is not reasonable.
Didn't have his best season last year although going 20/20... but i think he's set for a huge one this year whether at Madrid or somewhere else. Never been very fast and having knee bursitis for 6 months made him even slower. Now, he's fit. We'll see how he does under good conditions.

Really, if DD had a brain, he'd play a 442 with Giroud in front of Benz. It allows Ribery to have a target, Benz to play off the box and Valbuena to roam around. Everyone plays naturally. Instead, you have pieces that are good/great individually but don't really fit.

As far as Lyon, Lacazette impresses me more than Benzia on the attack... he's a natural CF and plays the line very well.
Benzia needs to get stronger and stay more involved. Great production... but that's more to do with the fantastic form of Grenier and Gourcuff and being left all alone.

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
Didnt get into the reason why he is how he is, all that was said was he used to run off the ball better and he was better when he did that. That and I think he should be better than he is now.
When he said back in his Lyon days, he wanted to one day win the Ballor D'or it was far fetched but his talent suggested not impossible...now, it really probably is impossible.
And while he wasnt electric speed for Lyon, he was no question sharper and quicker than now.
Back then you could see why Ronaldo was his idol, they had similarities and you could see parts of his game within Benzema. Now those similarities appear like the Ronaldo post injury and for Madrid. Which he was still a great great player but, different.
Benz still a great player, none called him horrible at all.

Sociedad are in trouble tbh. Gonalons-Gourcuff-Grenier-Lacazette-Benzia is a fantastic combination... Grenier has a goal and 4 assists, Gourcuff 1 goals and 2 assists, Lacazette 3 goals and Benzia 2 goals and an assist... in just 2 games.
But the defense is awful other than Umtiti. So they can be had there.

Yeah La Real is usually solid in defense but since Mikel has been out there have been some problems. I just hope La Real can take their chances when they get them.

Benz is trash. One of the biggest wastes of talent of all time.
He's gone over 12 hours without scoring for the French NT now.

LaReals defence has never really been any good. one reason for their horrendous start to the season. They started conceding less but their defence is still the same. If they are to go through against Lyon they are going to have to win it on aggregate by scoring alot more than they concede. not overly optimistic especially now will Illaramendi gone

Watched quite a few games already and really impressed with Lyon, Marseille and Monaco.
Monaco surprised me tbh, twice i have watched them now and twice their lesser known players have impressed more than the big money signings.
Carrasco, Ocampas, Fabinho and Riviere were all really impressive today.
Hope they can all keep it up, would make the challenge to PSG very interesting.
