Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be out for a minimum of four weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury against Chelsea, owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi has told RMC.
Ibrahimovic, 32, was forced to come off 68 minutes into his side's 3-1 Champions League quarterfinal first-leg win at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
The Sweden international was due to undergo tests on the injury on Thursday, and Al-Khelaifi has since confirmed that the former AC Milan man is out of the return leg at Stamford Bridge, while he may not be fully fit until at least the beginning of May.
"We are waiting for the results of his tests," he said. "But I think he will be absent for a minimum of four weeks. He will not be playing in the return match against Chelsea, it's impossible."
Should Al-Khelaifi be correct, Ibrahimovic would be sidelined for both legs of the Champions League semifinal, providing PSG progress to the last four.
Meanwhile, with the Ligue 1 title looking to be heading to Paris for the second year running, Al-Khelaifi also revealed that coach Laurent Blanc is on the verge of signing a contract extension, following his good work since replacing Carlo Ancelotti in the summer.
"I have great respect for Ancelotti, who is a great coach, but Laurent Blanc has done a lot to change the style and the quality of play,” he said. “I am very happy and I hope that he can sign an extension this week. He is very happy at the club and there is no reason not to stay with PSG."

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
French Football Weekly released this year's edition of Le 50, which highlights the brightest foreign and domestic talents in France. Every player on the list is 21 or under. Heard about this list while listening to the Football Show in my car. They were doing a section on Ligue 1. Just from perusing the list, I know a few of these names, but there are many I don't know so it will be quite an interesting read.
Here's the link to the 2014 list for anyone who wants to have a look - http://frenchfootballweekly.com/download/Le502014.pdf
Also included the link for the 2013 addition for comparisons' sake - https://www.dropbox.com/s/mporr50coijjltq/Le50%20-%202013.pdf

The list seems about right. I've seen a lot of Thauvin & Eysseric and I think those 2 will end up being above average level at least. Shout out for Umtiti.

Vincent Enyeama: Has kept more clean sheets (21) than any other goalkeeper in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season.
21 league clean sheets this season for Lille is a new club record.

POTY: Ibra, predictable
young PTOY: verratti, predictable, even though James deserves it, been better. but there is too much of a collective fap about verratti in france.

Ibra will obviously win it. And James should win the YPOTY.

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
James will win it for sure imo... it's not even a question. Ibra will take best player. As much as i like Blanc this season (other than his Chelsea leg 2 debacle), Ranieri and Girard have done better coaching jobs... Personally, i'd give it to Ranieri in terms of best coach. Sirigu was the best keeper imo.

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
Yeah... Lucas Moura ended the last 6 weeks superbly. Seems like he found the next level. He was dishing final balls left and right + his dribbling was unplayable. Hope he keeps it up.
