Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
Monaco VP :
"We met in the spring but we didn't talk [about a move] because he was a Real Madrid player and at that stage he was already in the stage of negotiating for a new contract, while we were working on signing Falcao," Vasilyev told L'Equipe.
"We had to be realistic, because we could not have bought Falcao and Cristiano. Of course we would have loved to have had them both but we had already spent a lot of money and in the future we will have to invest less money in the team. We can't carry on spending and spending - we're going to spend less money and focus on our academy, which is one of the best in France."
Vasilyev also denied that Falcao has a clause in his contract which would allow him to leave the club to join Real Madrid.
"There is no clause that allows him to leave after the first year. It wouldn't make any sense to build a project around a player and then let him leave after the first season," he said.

He's saying this because he has a lawsuit going with Ligue 1... this is negotiations' posturing. Basically, he's pitching that this is the same ole Monaco and their status + tax benefits should not be changed.
Yeah right lol.

sure falcao is easy to mark
but he gets a chance on goal, and he scores.. trust me you think you got them but players like falcao and gomez come out of nowhere and score goals

Reims drew 1-1 with Monaco
Moncao and PSG have the same amount of points (18) but Monaco with a better GD. Marseille 1 point behind them at 3rd with 17 points. Lille 4th with 14

Uli Hoeness wrote:"We have a completely different opinion than Zlatan Ibrahimovic. We are very satisfied with Pep Guardiola," Hoeness told Bild.
"Ibrahimovic is a bitter prima donna if you ask me. He has never really gotten over his Barcelona exit.
"No team has ever been happy with him. He always brings problems with him."

He started over Moutinho in the last game and is getting integrated now.. he just wasn't used to playing all summer long in tournaments and had a physical reaction to it. Looked good the last 2 games i saw him too. started 2-3 games in the last 3 weeks.

he wasnt used to playing summer tourneys? that's a lame excuse Sports, kondogbia is very bad, doesnt think, bad first touch, fouls a lot. Very overrated youngster, we are lucky we avoided paying for him.
He started over Moutinho and he was awful, just another product of Ranieri's usual weird team selection. Not even 1/10 the player moutinho is, but i dont think you implied anything by that.

Who heard those rumors of Seydoux selling Lille to a Chinese billionaire??
I for one hope it happens just to spice this league up.
btw it seems Cabella is going to Newcastle next June. Finally they'll be going straight back to Ligue 2 where they phucking belong.

How is Moutinho doing? Great
How is Rodriguez doing? Great
How is Kongdobia doing? Terrible
How is Toulalan doing? Great
How is Ocampos doing? Great
How is Ismat-Mirin doing? Who knows since he doesn't even freaking play, waste of MONEY, much more so than the signing of Kondogbia. Especially when you realize the players infront of him.

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
Sorry but Kondogbia looked good in his last 2-3 starts that have all happened in the last 3 weeks. Ā He was giving Moutinho a rest in the last one. Ā Toulalan is just better right now, which is why Kondogbia hasn't played. Ā But both Mounir Obbadi and Toulalan are 30... Ā they really got Kondogbia for the future and he is going to rotate regularly now as Ranieri has played his starting XI to death with no rest. Ā Same issue for Isimat Mirin as Ranieri refuses to rotate Carvalha and Abidal... Ā he never plays.
Ocampos started great as a RW... Ā but then he got benched because Ranieri preferred Carrasco as a LW and James Rodriguez moved into a RAM position. Ā But Carrasco got injured and dropped form... which is when Martial dazzled (and then got injured).
As such, Monaco has moved to a 4312 with 2 strikers. Ā Falcao and Riviere are up front with James Rodriguez in the AM/10 role. Ā The fullbacks are responsible for width and the midfield 3 are Toulalan-Obaddi-Moutinho.
Moutinho has been average and is getting criticized. Ā Falcao has been average too tbh. Ā Only true superstar out there is James Rodriguez. Ā Toulalan and Obaddi have both been very solid. Ā Abidal-Carvalho are both very smart and seem to get the job done somehow lol. Ā They play every min too... Ā Kurzawa is a young kid with a ton of talent at left FB, but is a bit inconsistent understandably. Ā BUt he's getting taught by one of the best in Abidal. Ā Raggi is surprisingly solid as a right RB... going into the season, i thought he sucked. Ā Subasic has been good at keeper and Romero never plays as a result.
Monaco is only 5 points behind PSG and they play them in a month at Monaco. Doing very well considering the lack of depth.

After considering Vincent Kompany, Nicolas Otamendi, Eliaquim Mangala or Kurt Zouma, AS Monaco could finally try to offer Philippe Mexes (31 years, 10 games, 1 goal in Serie A this season). The French defender is no longer a priority AC Milan since arriving on the bench Clarence Seedorf, Bonera and Zapata who prefers the former Roma player. Remains whether the Rossonero be tempted by a return to Ligue 1. wrote:Sport Mediaset

Ismat Mirin will get his chance. Mexes is still OK but he's slow as hell ATM. When a fast Defender is needed that'll be Mirin's cue.

What are you talking about lol.. get his chance where? at Monaco?? lolno. He has two dinosaurs starting infront of him with Monaco searching for another. If he was to get a chance, he would have had it months ago, especially with the price Monaco paid for him over the summer.

I am a Milan fan but le me tell you this, Mexes is pretty bad now. Maybe Zapata being worse makes him look good but Mexes is slow both mentally and physically while also being utterly useless in set pieces. I would be really happy if we sold him to Monaco.

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
PSg drew monaco away yesterday, 1-1. When you consider that Monaco are coming straight from Ligue 2, and some of the names in their team sheet, they are doing an excellent job getting ready to challenge for the title for the coming years.
Ranieri is very good, very efficient even if he makes awkward choices at times. His two young fullbacks, Fabinho and Kurzawa on each side are some of the best in the league. James is quite good, and their set of wide players always contribute a great deal.
Ranieri out coached Blanc last night for example, made changes that positively influenced the game in his favor. Blanc on the other hand was a bit clueless, removing players that were doing well, and then forcing Cabaye into a high intensity game in which he looked like a deer in middle of traffic.
PSG so far havent won a single game in ligue 1 vs the top 4 teams of the league. That's Lille, Monaco and St Etienne. Worrying. Thiago Silva got his arse handed to him last night by Riviere (you probably never heard of him), scored an own goal, but since GL didnt see it, his reputation is untouched
They also looked pretty bad defending, because usually PSG this season are now dominating possession at rates of 70%, but yesterday, Monaco was able to take it away from them and to force them back. Well, PSG was a mess...

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
I watched El-Cashico yesterday as well.
Good game,Monaco were the better team imo.But contrary to what you think,Monaco's frontline were really scrubs yesterday along with Ocampos. They did stretch PSG's defense for sure but at this level you gotta put those easy chances away. Also Subasic had a superb game, probably MOTM in this game.
And i dont see whats so special in Lucas Moura. This guy's a good dribbler and can take on his man and all but his end product is so shat.I might get slated, but he really reminds me of Pienaar in some ways lol.Overrated dribbler imo.

Re: Ligue 1 Discussion 13/14
The overall impact of their attack in the league has been good, but sure, in big games, those guys can hardly make the difference for Monaco. Spot on about Subasic, he is quite clearly n1 atm, too bad for Romero.
Yeah Moura is usually very bad but yesterday was one of his best game in a while lol. He just lacks football intelligence, makes bad decisions all the time. When his dribbling is on, he can break a defense but he is struggling otherwise because there is no end product in general.

Jesus must be bad if Pastore is starting over him
I'd take him for the right price, need to start using Wingers badly and he wouldn't take long at all to settle back in Serie A.
