I never understood Bale to Madrid to begin with... Falcao, Cavani or Rooney, ok. But this made no sense from the start.

Don't get anyone excited lol, betting means nothing other than people putting money on it.

We were odds on to sign Aubameyang on 4 separate occasions before he signed for Dortmund for example.

It means about as much as Pardew saying we are going to focus on keeping the ball this year.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has told L'Equipe that Yoann Gourcuff would be prepared to accept a pay cut in order to seal a switch to Arsenal.

He also claims that Bafetimbi Gomis could pen a new deal in France after seeing a proposed move to Newcastle break down.

Years ago Aulas was a respected and great president.
He must have lost his papers some time ago. He has been looking like Zamperoni or some other weirdo with Gomis case and now trying to sell Gourcouff to Arsenal.  

As much as i don't like his manipulation the last 2 years, Aulas is a fantastic businessman.  He's self financing the new stadium entirely... that's 500 mil euros and they've already started construction.

He's been able to dump all the big salaries except for Gomis, Briand and Gourcuff while keeping the team in CL this year...  He invested heavily in the academy and it's allowing him to do this.

Once he gets his stadium finished, watch out for Lyon.  All the revenue is his.  He owns the land and everything about it. They go from being very cheap to having an extra 50-60 mil to spend a year.

True, the point I was making though was if Barca get that desperate they feel justified in spending £43m on a defender they might as well try for someone superior to Luiz.
