Felt the same way no more than a week or two ago pal but honestly, I'm starting to warm to the idea of it. Now that the first-tier of potential CF recruits are all officially off elsewhere, Shrek's among the best of the rest. His wages are astronomical but if the club get him to agree to lower them a bit and land him for a decent fee, he'd be a brilliant addition, even if his absolute best years may or may not be behind him.


He's got something to prove, it's a World Cup year, he'd be playing in his favoured position bar none which he's never really been given a fair chance at at United without being shifted about the team all the time, and with José's motivational prowess, he could be fantastic for us.

^You do realise Rooney is going for 25-30M right? That is an absolute STEAL.

He's not getting 250K from anyone else and he knows it. And yes, that is a steal for Rooney. He's well worth £40M.

Thing is Rooney from 1/2 year ago or so I would have said yes, even though I hate the bastard.

Maybe it's because he's not happy at Man Utd but seriously last season the second half of it, he was god damn dreadful.

He was being marginalised and clearly eyeing the exit door even then. He still scored more League goals than Torres did last season, and this while being played in a withdrawn role and being in and out of the side the whole season. A bit of TLC from José and an automatic starting position up top could be just what he needs to get back to what he's capable of.

Rooney is one of those player who are overrated and underrated at the same time.He hasnt been doing that well for United because it seems like SAF turned him more into a midfielder every year that went by, he would be a really good signing for chelsea and I have no idea why you guys are against it considering

1)You guys have average CFs (imo)
2)There are simply no top CFs left other than him and Higuain
3)Money is not a problem

I totally agree. He was turned into a MF as ManU didn't have enough creative talent in the middle. For a striker doing so is a sacrifice. If Rooney is overrated so is SAF and Mou is stupid(to be after him) - if that is what a Chelsea fan is saying I see no logic, but pure hate.

Idk I think Rooney would be good for Chelsea, plus he's English so that's a plus too. I wouldn't worry about the Torres effect on him, that's like saying any big name striker including cavani would've had a Torres effect at the club.

Cavani was on hot form.. Rooney was up and down all the time. + he might be growing hair but he is not getting any younger.
