Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
Mediaset are literally always wrong tbh they are a source you don't trust often
Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
windkick wrote:For Spurs, would you like Osvaldo or Negredo more?
I think a motivated Osvaldo is far superior to Negredo, but he is a bit of a headcase which is why I only consider him a 2 year option.
Yohan Modric wrote:Roma are hoping to lure Arsenal forward Gervinho to Stadio Olimpico as the club look to find a replacement for Pablo Osvaldo.
The Giallorossi are looking for a striker to fill the gap left by the Italy international, who is said to be on the verge of signing for Manchester City.
And according to Il Tempo, Rudi Garcia wants to reunite with the Ivorian goalscorer and will offer €10m for his services.
Dear god let these rumors die, he isn't good enough for Roma
McLewis wrote:Dutch media claim PSV Eindhoven talent Kevin Strootman is close to joining Roma for €15m.
The 23-year-old midfielder reportedly turned down offers from Russia in order to accept the Serie A challenge.
According to Voetbal International, PSV have agreed to drop their asking price from €20m to €15m.
It would be a real coup for the Giallorossi, as Strootman had also been linked with Milan, Manchester United and Inter in recent months.
“There are several clubs interested but only when they reach an agreement with PSV do I come into the picture,” he told the same publication.
“This is not to say that any are in the world’s top six. There is also interest from Russia, but that is not an option for me. I do not make hasty decisions about my future.
“The opinion of Netherlands Coach Louis van Gaal is also very important with the World Cup in Brazil next year.”
--------------------------------------
Some other sources have our bid as high as 17m for him. Terms already agreed as well it seems.
This has to be a possible replacement for Pjanic or De Rossi. Can't see so many top midfielders getting sufficient time in the team this season.
I like Roma's aspirations, but where does this leave Bradley, he's to good to sit on the bench. Still think he's the perfect DM for United, but I don't think he's even on their radar.

Precisely why I worry. Garcia loves his midfielders, but more importantly, he loves technical midfielders. For all of Bradley's ability, he's not a technical midfielder in the way that Pjanic or De Rossi are. Florenzi is also considered to be a midfielder with great technical ability as well.
I personally think Bradley still has a place in this team, especially if one of DDR or Pjanic is sold and Marquinho is moved more into the LB role. A midfield cannot operate solely on technique and his energy last season was/is sorely underrated. Would be a bigger loss than Roma would be willing to admit if they let him go. None of these guys I've mentioned plays the game the way he does. It must also be mentioned that the retirement of Perrotta has freed up a spot in the midfield as well.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
If Strootman joins and both he and Bradley play regularly Roma may well become a second favourite side for me.
If either of them ends up riding the bench and missing out on playing time and development that's a different matter though.

So maybe Bale is on his way out, Nani was on my shopping list more for Spurs than Roma.

In the same vein, this could mean
--Nani----CF----Bale
Not sure how I feel about this tbh. It depends on the price really.

Why dont clubs like arsenal, dortmund tap in there and snatch away their targets, instead of getting bullied later

i'd hope so seeing as Nani only made 17 appearances in all competitions, compared to Lennon's 48
Nani still had 3 goals, Lennon only 4
Lennon can't lace Nani's boots when he's on his day

Besides, he's not what we need. He's very good, but he's not good in set pieces or particularly fast or strong. This signing addresses none of our weaknesses (other than a blatant lack of a natural CB besides Pique, which any CB would fill).
He's fast and quick.
It's true that he doesn't seem to be great in the air, and we need taht. But givent he other options at CB......

I personally disagree and Barca need someone with pace in the backline with brilliant reading of the game and positional sense.
Pique was fine at dealing with the aerial attacks when he had Puyol alongside him reading everything on the floor.
I think its kinda perfect actually.
Still need a defensive fullback who is good in the air to replace Abidal though, but i doubt that will happen.

only want to get rid of Nani if we get Bale. Can be class on his day and for the numbers being thrown around I'd rather keep hold of him. Get rid of Young pls.
