His first touch has clearly improved and its something I used to hold against him for quite some time. Even if he has dips in form Ba/Torres are solid alternatives.
Gomez is a donkey. Every club would be after him if he was as good as you say he is. He's only been linked with third tier teams all summer long for a reason. Do the math.

@Gil, Lukaku is not ready to lead the line, My mother has a better first touch than Lukaku. It would be an idiotic idea.
As for Gomez, he is quality, brings nothing but goals to the team and that is all we need. Plus, for €20m, why not?
I'll second what Art Morte said in the Pool section.Youngsters get way too much hype, especially the youth players.
Lukaku isn't a youth player for us.
He is quality, no doubt, but in order to start for us he has to work on his technique, if he makes that above average, we'll have a top notch CF on our hands.

Vucinic is great at making life easier for another striker, he has great vision and can control the ball so well.
However, his finishing is too inconsistent.

So thats why we despreately need a new CF?
Gomez doesn't fit every system but he fits ours like a glove. He still scored a decent amount of goals last season despite being second choice. How about you do some math?

Will be directly responsible for more Serie A goals than Tevez
Provided he doesn't join a scrub.
Also Surag your post can be directly applied to Tevez over last 2 years tbh.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
And also Vucinic is extremely lazy on the pitch and basically a turnover king.He gives the ball away cheaply too often.
Tevez on the other hand fits the profile of player Conte wants/likes.He gives his 100% on the pitch and he's devastating when on form.
Vucinic's best form last like 2-3 games max. He's just not consistent enough imo.But he was our best forward of a bad bunch you can say in the last 2 years.

Roma close on Strootman
By Football Italia staff
Il Messaggero maintains Roma have agreed terms with Kevin Strootman, but are yet to match PSV’s €15m asking price.
The Dutch international midfielder had already been heavily linked with Milan earlier this summer, but Roma appear to be in the lead now.
According to newspaper Il Messaggero, the club has agreed terms with the player, but are still in negotiations with PSV.
It is believed PSV Eindhoven are requesting €15m plus performance-related bonuses for the 23-year-old, but the Giallorossi want that whittled down to at most €11m.
PSV have already done business with Serie A in recent weeks, as Napoli bought Dries Mertens for €9.7m.
------------------------------------------
Gilardino-Borriello deal is off
By Football Italia staff
A deal seemed to be done, but this morning the exchange between Alberto Gilardino and Marco Borriello collapsed.
Genoa had been ready to hand over Gilardino to Roma in exchange for full ownership of Borriello and a cash sum.
However, today’s crunch meeting between the clubs hit a brick wall, so both Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport claim the move is off.
Gilardino is still owned by Genoa, even though he spent last season on loan at Bologna.
Borriello played for Genoa on loan last term, but is not thought to have a future at Roma.
-------------------------------------
I don't think we have the juice to fork out 15m for Strootman unless we sell Pjanic tbh. Spurs have reportedly offered 23m for him so unless Garcia has a place for him in his plans, Roma will likely accept that deal.
And ffs.....The Gila-Boriello deal would be noice. Decent bench striker on lower wages to mentor Destro is exactly what's needed.

Representatives from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will meet next week to negotiate a deal for David Villa.
Mundo Deportivo believe that the striker held talks with the capital club last Thursday near his hometown of Llangreu.
It is not clear how close the 31-year-old and Diego Simeone’s men are to agreeing a contract.
But the Barcelona-based newspaper insist the Rojiblancos will discuss a deal with the Blaugrana later next week.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.VI
Reports in the Italian media have claimed that Milan turned down an offer from Real Madrid for Mario Balotelli.
The striker only made the move to San Siro from Manchester City in January for €20m (£17.6m).
But according to the Corriere dello Sport, new Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti ordered his club to make a huge offer in order to tempt SuperMario to Los Blancos.
However, the Rossoneri assured he is absolutely not for sale, nor is there any buy-out clause in his contract.
“Will Balotelli be sold? No, for the moment he won’t go, but in football those who are not for sale sooner or later go on the market,” agent Mino Raiolatold the Corriere dello Sport.
“Milan have an important project in place with Mario and he is very happy here. You can be sure he won’t move for now, but tomorrow... I don’t know.
“It is very tough for Serie A to hold on to top players right now, as their revenue is only a third of what English or Spanish clubs make.”

Reports in the Spanish Press have once again claimed that Barcelona will bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz.
The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou this summer, with Tito Vilanova’s side sending scouts to the Confederations Cup to watch the centre-back.
Mundo Deportivo believe that the Camp Nou club were deeply impressed by the 26-year-old’s performances at the tournament and will look to make a bid later this month.
The Catalan paper insist that the Blaugrana are also hoping to replicate Luiz’s international partnership with Thiago Silva in La Liga, by bidding for the Paris Saint-Germain defender as well.
Luiz could be available for around €35m.

Gomez is a marginal player which is why Fiorentina is the only club that wants him and Bayern are willing to part with him despite not getting Lewa.
If we wanted a tap in merchant Fred is available....
The fees asked for strikers nowadays is ridiculous. They aren't as important as they once were.
No game changers like Ronaldo, Henry, Drogba, Ibra etc around anymore.

I love Giacch but seriously for 10m or over it'd be great business for a 28 year old squad player.Maybe we can try to squeeze a few more millions from them too.
While we use that money and improve the quality in other areas.
Cant see us spending 10 mill on one player, particularly one who is so close to 30. Not the direction we are going in.
