Yeah American Hustle was pretty shit. Way way way overrhyped. Doesn't deserve any of the nominations for me.

Except Amy Adams, I think she does deserve ut. Becasue she did kind of save the movie.

I enjoyed American Hustle, but I do agree Amy Adams carried the movie, which is saying a lot given the quality of actors on display. It was good enough that it should be nominated, but given the field it has no chance of winning.

American Hustle is not even in my top 20 of 2013 movies, it's barely funny, it's all over the place. It feels like a lousy Martin Scorsese movie (which isn't even a thing, because he always delivers). It's the worst David O. Russell film to date imo, The Fighter and Silver Linings were amazing, and were some of my favorites to win both years.
International films are also overlooked alot, which is probably understandable. The Hunt was 4 on my list of best movies of the year. I'm normally not one to love Danish movies, despite my nationality, but this one is something very special. Mads Mikkelsen also deserved an oscar nomination for best actor. His performance was way better than Bale. But I guess Cannes Film Festival is the place for international films to get recognition.
If you haven't seen The Hunt you should do it.
I think you'd love it, El Gunner.

I would like to watch more Wes Anderson than I have, really.

Director - Darren Aronfsky
Starring - Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins, Jennifer Connoley
Why not?

Tbh, there's not much too look forward to in the coming months, until Godzilla and Interstellar (November, probably December). That is excluding superhero movies.

Talking about Anderson, what is Paul Thomas Anderson's next project? And when?

I really love his movies.
There Will Be Blood is one of the all time best directed movies imo.

Actually the Jaime Lannister actor looks a lot like Joel in the video game. Think he'd be a terrific cast for this.

I watched Blue Jasmine and quite enjoyed it. I think I liked Midnight in Paris better, but both are great movies. Woody continuing to create great movies even in his old age Proud

It's late so I'll keep it brief. I liked it. Cate Blanchett did a fantastic job and Sally Hawkins was good too. I know the character is meant to be, but Blanchett's character (Jasmine) is so incredibly insufferable. Nice to see Louis C.K have a small role too.
