Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
Stevie Ray is a better Madrid fan than most Madrid fans and he's an Atleti fan ffs.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
I love it when people who don't follow Madrid comment on Madrid like historians
Stevie Ray is.... how should i put it... inaccurate almost 100% in what he's saying.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
Yeah I think the Raul situation was handled decently. The club didn't really do much wrong there since it was Raul himself who asked to leave.
However his shot at the "fans" is totally legit. I freaking despise those fickle mofos.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
Pipita said there were reasons for him going. Isn't it blatently obvious its because of Perez.
Ill miss you son. I want him to go to a team that can win CL he deserves that trophy so bad for all his hardwork
Ronaldo please change his mind

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
Fans are fickle everywhere tbh, especially at big clubs. At the big clubs, you're either a legend or not. If you're a legend, that's the only time fans cut you slack. If you're not, then it's "what have you done for me lately".
I don't see Madrid being any different in that respect. The thing with countries like Spain and Italy is that the blood runs very hot just naturally. Emotions are very intense. So when you're loved, it's like being a god. But when you're in disfavor, you're the scum of the earth.
I'm generalizing... but it's usually like that.
Personally, i think Mou kept pouring oil on everyone's emotions this year. It became very, very clanish as a result. Mou sees the world as "friends and enemies". That's what Madrid became: Friends of Mou and enemies of Mou. He's not completely at fault but he was very much the catalyst. Higuain was seen as a friend of Mou, unfortunately and unfairly. That's what happened imo.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
I'd think the fans is the entire that got up and chanted his name last year - not the 100 people that whistled him at the tail end of this Mourinhio engendered idiocy.
But whatever sample you want to use is fine.
Marca champagne bottles pop? Such garbage. As stupid as those idiots at Marca are - they like everyone else in Madrid, Love Higuain.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
only a handful of people hated Higgy and within that mix lie Perez. We all know what happens to you if Perez doesn't like you, he drives you out. Pellegrini can witness it
And when he loves someone he will make sure they start even when they have been shite *cough* Benz and Ozil *cough*

Yeah Benz will stay but he'll be under a lot of pressure next year. When he goes through his customary slump Higuain won't be there to take the pressure off him

I know, I had hoped we would sell Essien. I guess we're not that lucky.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
RVP slumped this year. So did Cavani. Aguero too. Everyone slumps in a season. They key is to empower the player to work himself out of it.
Heck, even CR7 was in a 2-month slump in the early season lol.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
Benzema lacks character so much, it's like he is just riding along. his talent is off the chain but trusting him a whole season alone in attack? that's too much.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
He acts like a G off the pitch though so that couldn't be his problem
his problem is that he knows he is irreplaceable under Perez so he doesn't need to do his best

2010-2011
Benz - 26 goals and 9 assists
2011-2012
Benz - 32 goals and 19 assists
2012-2013
Benz - 20 goals and 20 assists
Terrible last 3 years by Benzema... just horrible. He needs to do better! So mentally weak the guy.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
stats are overrated, he was dreadful for the most part this year, and padding his stats against Osasuna yesterday doesnt make him good. 11 goals and 11 assists in league is ridiculous. he was much better last year but i am pointing out something obvious, he lacks character. all those stats are the product of talent, which he has plenty and more than most. Asked to led france and he will be changed position soon because he is so bad yet seen as indispensable.

Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid
Stats are overrated for CFs... sure. We should rate them on how sexy they look, not how well they produce
As far as France NT... he was dominant until exactly 12 months ago. Carried the NT after the WC in 2010 all the way until spring of 2012. What happened? He adapted his game so much to providing service and playing next to CR7 that he couldn't flip the switch and become the lead player during International breaks. Benz has become a 10/SS for all intents and purposes due to how he's used in Madrid. Besides, his midfield was Diarra, MVilla and Cabaye during the Euro He was basically playing CM because there was no choice.
Stats are extremely telling for CFs. They are asked to produce the final goods, not the build up. Final good are either goals or assists.
