Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid - Page 4 Empty Re: Higuain announces he is leaving Madrid

Post by sportsczy Sun Jun 02, 2013 1:35 pm

Stats are overrated for CFs... sure. We should rate them on how sexy they look, not how well they produce Rolling Eyes

As far as France NT... he was dominant until exactly 12 months ago. Carried the NT after the WC in 2010 all the way until spring of 2012. What happened? He adapted his game so much to providing service and playing next to CR7 that he couldn't flip the switch and become the lead player during International breaks. Benz has become a 10/SS for all intents and purposes due to how he's used in Madrid. Besides, his midfield was Diarra, MVilla and Cabaye during the Euro Laughing He was basically playing CM because there was no choice.

Stats are extremely telling for CFs. They are asked to produce the final goods, not the build up. Final good are either goals or assists.

why should a CF be asked to assist? ??? unless they are SS

DMzema is never in the box hence why he got the nickname. The guy should thank Perez/Zizoue by at least TRY to do his best and not fan around like an obese mothafocka

Higuain was the one who went to the fat farm with Marcelo during January because he looked like a beached whale, not Benzema.

So how to you rate character and will with statistics? something benzema doesnt have? how do you rate the fact that he doesnt makes the movements that spread a defense apart? how do rate his ability to go toe to toe with opposing defenders and attack them whenever he can? how do you rate his general propensity at creating panic in others when he has the ball in the final third. stats only show efficiency, yet there are so many intangibles that they cant account. i watch all the games of benzema this season and his 20, 20 season looks really meh. if we compare him to Higuain alone, sure he contributes more to our game. but if we have to look outside and compare to others, we ought to be a lot more critical. he is kinda toothless for a 9 which he isnt anyway.

I've honestly had enough of this debate. If you guys can't bring yourselves to stop beating this dead horse even after Higuain is leaving then I don't know what to say.

I will go on record though that we are selling the wrong striker.

for CFs, it's 80% stats. That's how it is. They are either the last or the next to last player of the ball when there's a goal. So goals and assists are massively telling. If you're a CM or winger, it becomes less so because you are responsible for flow.

To say stats aren't critically important for CFs is ridiculous.

In Madrid, the CF is not a CF. CR7 is the CF 70% of the time. Your role is to find production where you can find it... and that's helping the build up and providing for CR7. You're a SS or 10 with CR7 there. But you should also get a minimum number of goals just because you will get chances.

Benzema was tied for the team lead in assists with Ozil this year. Think about that for a second.

Looking at the outside Nick, who has performed better without being the focal point of the attack and playing less than 3000 mins? Look at Rooney now that RVP is there... he's struggling to find a role. Cesc is supposed to set up Messi but he can't. Aguero? Tevez? Vucinic? Tell me, who has performed better in a secondary role.

Edit: We're the ones who are forcing our CFs out of the 9 hole Nick, not them. That's why Higuain has had enough.

In my opinion, what both these guys have done in the last 3 years while being rotated and playing next to Ronaldo is nothing short of unbelievable.

I always held Higuain in high esteem. I respect his attitude , especialy when i consider in which club he was able to stay for 7 years. I always thought he looked up to Raul , despite everything around him , he was serene , loyal and dedicated to the team. Best of luck to Higuain , even if he chooses Juventus.

He plays for Real Madrid, even Danny Welbeck would score goals for them, but I'm not saying he's not a great player.

People need to cut Icecream FatzDMa some slack. He's not truely awful. And considering Madrid live to feed Ronaldo (And possibly Bale) you should be happy that you have a striker who's willing to drop deep.

Sure you could but a 'better' striker like Cavani. But he's not going to want to spend his time playing as a decoy and living off of the table scraps that are left to him.

DeviAngel wrote:Gonzalo Higuain again fuelled links with Juventus by declaring “it’d be wonderful” to partner Fernando Llorente in Turin.

The Argentine striker announced last night that he was going to leave Real Madrid and confirmed the Bianconeri have made an offer.

“There is absolutely no chance of me staying in Madrid. I have made my decision,” Higuain told Spanish media today.

Juventus have already signed Llorente as a free agent from Athletic Bilbao for next season and Higuain was asked if he’d like to form a new partnership with him.

“It’d be wonderful. We’ll see what happens.”

Higuain has shot to the top of the wish-list, as Fiorentina will only accept €30m cash for Stevan Jovetic.

Madrid will only accept at least €25 million cash for Higuain too... i don't see how different that is from Jovetic.

Hurry because PSG is lurking. I think that's why Madrid is holding off in part... as part of Carlo's release, PSG is asking to buy a player. The question is who.

Man i hope this guy is not teasing us or something. This would truly be a wow signing,a 10/10 transfer.
Really hope Madrid reduce their demands.Give them first option on Vidal if needed.

i think that option has gone because him saying to the press that he is leaving and club should figure it out is not the right move, at least from the club perspective. we are stalling on juve offer it seems, which is the move he wants so he is making pressure on us.
