It's still all meaningless unless Arsenal meet Liverpool's £55m valuation. Suarez hands in a transfer request? Great, £50 to 55m please, and thank you. The 40m + 1 bid only serves to annoy Liverpool and inform Suarez of their already established interest, without actually showing that they're interested enough to even come close to the values it would take to secure the player.

I still don't understand the driving desire to replace Giroud. I thought he had a solid season last year for a player just arriving in a new league and there are other areas that surely need more immediate attention in the squad. All this chasing and throwing of money around (without ever seriously looking like securing a deal) seems like papering over cracks at this point.

No one has dissed or said anything disrespectful towards Liverpool mate. The confusion of the clause was between Suarez's agent and Liverpool, not Arsenal. According to ESPN and DailyMail, Suarez Agent thought or believed that the £40m clause was a release clause but that wasn't the case. We just made a bid to activate the real clause already in the contract, nothing else.

I said Liverpooi, not Liverpool, referring to the poster that everyone is flaming at right now (his name is currently something-red). I find it hilarious that Arsenal fans think informing Suarez of their interest is going to trigger a transfer request when that didn't happen after the first bid, which he referenced in an interview (and clearly knew had happened).

The combination of those laughable conclusions with unnecessary berating and badgering of a fellow Liverpool-poster is what set me off. Certain posters in this thread should not be calling others out for being unintelligent or uninformed when their own comments are so profoundly out of touch with reality.

Because both choices are absolutely different. The first choice doesnt change a thing, Liverpool will inform Suarez that - " Arsenal wants you and you will go for 50+ kthxbye. "

And their's no hidden fact that Suarez doesn't know about Arsenal's interest, He stated in a interview earlier, He was happy 2-3 clubs were interested in him, Including Arsenal and Madrid.
So i dont see how the "Suarez now knows Arsenal likes him after the 40000001 bid" works as people are saying.

And if Arsenal can talk and agree terms still doesn't change the fact Arsenal need to fork out 50million, Even if Suarez puts in a TR. He signed a long term contract barely 10 months ago.
