Even final, great header at the end. Benfica were unlucky not to get another 30 minutes, but all in all, neither of these sides should even be here as they are both CL rejects.
Real winner on the night, Rafa Benitez. Well done sir
Oh, and, John Terry

Well Porto won it within 370 days, I thought you were being broad lol. When I say 'Chelsea won the Champions League a year ago' I'm not being that specific. But you are right

Re: Europa League Final- Chelsea vs. Benfica
even in a Chelsea related thread NQDP chats about Liverpool andwrong. Rodgers get ****** load of stick in our section.
but yea, we should be miserable bastards for having one of the most potent attacks in the league and finishing the league on a real high.

Whats wrong with what Terry did? He is the club captain and our Captain on the day, Lampard, wanted him there, Terry didn't want to look out of place with a suit on.

How did Chelsea win
Two bullshit trophies in two years. Never deserved the CL or this EL. No offence but Bayern dominated you througought and Chelsea should have never made it here had the just been knocked out from the CL and not put into the EL.

Chelsea took their chances. Benfica wasted about 20. They were the better team for sure but you don't deserve it if you don't earn it.

Don't try and tell me Chelsea deserved the CL last year. If your saying that then you are 100% wrong.

Because wearing the kit which isn't stained with the sweat of the ones we DID play and contribute to the pitch is just poor etiquette and an insult to the ones who did. He should take example from Scholes, Giggs or hell, even Eden Hazard today who celebrated in the kit to which was appropriate during the 90, instead of stuffing them with shin-pads and hoping for remembrance.
Lampard has long been the leader for Chelsea on the pitch anyway.

Yes, Lampard leads Chelsea
What does it matter what he wears? He's obviously proud of the shirt and wants to feel part of the celebrations.
And I am very happy about this win. Very proud of the boys.

If you watched the game you saw Chelsea were utterly riding on pure luck. If you miss that many chances in a final its down to pure bad luck. I feel for Bayern because they were the better team in every single damn category to Chelsea.

Lampard doesn't lead Chelsea? Despite consistently leading by example, barking all the orders within his ranks, being a tremendous influence for the club, an idol for young ones, being clutch and the catalyst for Chelsea's momentum today. His influence for Chelsea is obvious and you don't need to be in the locker room to visually synchronize the effect he has for his squad.
You can be part of the celebrations and squad without an arbitrary shirt, that is...unless he doesn't feel apart of them for some reason.

In a final its not luck imo. Regular season maybe, but not finals. You have to have composure to deal with the pressure and finish your chances. Benfica just didn't look up to the task. Every time they got into the box in the first half it was like they forgot how to play, randomly hacking and swinging their legs anyway possible hoping something good would happen.

I don't disgree but Terry is much more important, he is the leader of Chelsea.

I still think it applies to both tbh. Bayern made so many poor decisions its hard to say they deserved much or to be champions. I think luck only comes into play if its because the refs get involved or make some real BS calls but from what I can remember there wasn't much or anything out of the ordinary
