Ben fairthorne " Jovetic spent the whole day with Arsenal "
While on the other hand Jovetic was at the fiorentina training ground where they were having an open training session

Didn't Alejandro do one already and regret it?
Wait for arsenal.com.
Saved for once...He is 99% Arsenal-bound
But then I realized while I was casually browsing the Arsenal sub-forum,I found player profiles for Wellington Nem & Adrian Lopez

Both Jovetic and Fiorentina favor a move to Arsenal and the premier league.

not necessarily.. this season proved that it was not only the safer option but also successful.. our team is not dependent on any player and all of them have contributed to the success..Raptorgunner wrote:srigooner wrote:Before somebody wakes me up: What if we signed both Jove and Higgy?
I think its about time we show some ambition and go for major trophies.
Tired of spending 10-12m on 3 players when we can have 1 great players for that kind of money.

This season proved nothing, we were just simply lucky. I never want to go trough this season ever again.

not spending high on one player is a safer option for clubs who dont want to lose or risk losing money.. if we have 30 million budget and we spent the entire on a player.. what if he gets injured or fails to adapt and becomes a flop ? clubs like ours cant afford such costly flops.. it may be more beneficial that we have three 10 million players.. and with Wenger as our leader, there is no need to spend high just for the sake of doing it or showing intent to the fans, when we can steal Cazorlas and unearth Koscielnies.. for example there was no need for us to spent high and sign Hazard for the sake of making an impact.. my point is just that once we fix our target, we must not hesistate to spend a little more on him to fend off competition, eg.. like in Matas case.. Wenger knows the best and i trust him..

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Yes we were simply lucky, we were outplayed by almost every team in the league. How many times we played where we had no shots on target? this team is good but it needs 2 more quality players around them.
We cant afford 30m flops but we can afford three 10m flops though?
We need to change our mind set and be the big club we are and spend big once a while, so what if the player flops? you cant never guarantee any player to perform wc. Man u made a mistake buy winning the league for only 24m?
We need to win trophies again, or we will keep losing players.
Mata case will hunt us for years, he will be the next Drogba against us.

The key thing here, which we can all agree on, is that we want to see as few flops as possible at Arsenal. If Wenger brings in Cazorla/Koscielny levels of quality for cheap, that's awesome. Nobody should knock dat transer market savvy. But at the same time it's hard to think of forwards who can help take the club to the next level who are inexpensive, which is why some people advocate a marquee signing up top.

The thing is, Raptor, the mark of a winner is not solely being better than your opponent but being able to outlast them. To grind out victory even when you're not the better side. We've done that exceptionally well in the second half of the season.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
lol.. the logic was that there is less risk of a failure in this method and the probablility of all 3 players becoming flops is very small..Raptorgunner wrote:We cant afford 30m flops but we can afford three 10m flops though?
and btw, Wenger is signing them...

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
My thinking on transfers is this.
Arsenal should either buy a star player and design their system and formation around his style of play (a.k.a fabregas like when the formation and style for suited to his strengths) or buy players that will strengthen the current style and system.
Arsenal for the last four years is playing a 4-3-3.
Stevan Jovetic and Higuan are both big names but if Arsenal continues to play 4-3-3 we need the player between them or even someone else who will suit this system best.
And hopefully we wont see any signings which will lead a player playing out of position and then failing like Gervinho (although he would fail anywhere in the pitch), Arshavin, Nasri to some extent (in LW) etc

We snatched victory in a few games. Probably some that we should not have.
We won nothing!

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
starting striker in a star studded Argentina. best goal/game ratio in Europe
I would have demanded no less than 40mill for him(yes I am serious) but for a buying club like us it is hard to get alot for our outgoing transfers. thats why they are all so low
Anyhow the longer Arsenal wait around all the strikers will be poached by other clubs and they will be left with abumeyang or something

From what i'm hearing Afc are not prepared to meet Jovetic €30m buy out clause. Afc value him at £20-22m tops. Fior trying to up interest.
