I'm very excited. There is word that he's the most talented Spaniard in his age group. He's holding a Pool jersey in this pic, so it's as good as completed

I guess this is the same guy who was in news before few days, when man city and barca were after him. If that's true, we have captured a gem of potential.

haha, your signature pic
sometimes i hate this excitement to see all these young names being signed for LFC because I get so impatient to see them in red.

I just hope at least 10% of the talent we have in the academy makes it big with us. So much potential there. Obviously I'll be happy for the lads even if they make it big somewhere else.

Eh, can't quite bring myself to be excited about yet another youngster - it's so hit and miss with them, like, Wilson, anyone? - but it's good we're trying.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I'll continue to be bemused by Luis Alberto's signing as I can confirm he isn't held within even our U-20 squad prospects, that squad being composed of unproven segunda talents.
I continue to hope that the 6.5M will be spent or conserved for elsewhere.
Chirivella on the other hand, now we are talking. Truly a bright talent who came through the Valencian ranks and is far beyond his years in terms of maturity. Would be a great future prospect.
Any news on Mkhitharyan? I thought we were close to signing him. Am I wrong?

Alberto passed his medical this morning.
Considering Spain's ridiculous amount of talent, it's not sin not to be within the youth set-up.
Balague, Sid Lowe and a few other Spanish journos have been singing his praises, saying he'd start for all La Liga clubs except the big 2. I admit I've never seen him play even for a second.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
And do they have statistics for the average positions of the defenses in front of the two keepers, where the shots they faced tended to come from (headers, shots; high, low; through traffic, one-on-one)? I'd love it if someone could supply those so we could get an actual idea of how they match up. I'm not sure who would look better but at least it would give us a more realistic idea of who Mignolet could end up doing for us, rather than just throwing out those numbers without any of the information that would explain it.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Thanks Red.
So far what I have understood is that Mkhitaryan is heavily interested within our club, vice-versa as only a few stumbling blocks within his contract and club are hindering our progress to acquire his signing.
I surmise this International Break has been one of the causes of that as post-break may just provide some clarity into his situation regarding his future. Hope for the best!
As for Mignolet, I've never heard any praise for him. I sincerely hope we keep Reina instead of investing that much money into an almost unknown quantity (for me at least). Reina's importance for LFC goes beyond his goalkeeping.
That numbers chart is rather arbitrary when it comes to judging goalkeepers.

Hi. I don't think we've met.
Also, all stats are redundant when it comes to judging keepers. You have to watch them live, and from what I've seen, Mignolet has been a lot more consistent and better than Reina in the last 2 years. Mignolet is the real deal.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
A little summary of where we're at:
Aspas, Luis Alberto and Chilval are the only 3 that have done medicals so far. We're not close to Mkhitaryan as of yet, and I have no idea what's going on with Ilori. I trust that'll be done after the under 20 World Cup, if it is to be done.
BBC are also reporting we've agreed a 9m fee for Mignolet. Of course you have Sky Sports saying it's 11m...

Seems to be too many third-party deals with Mkhitaryan. Shaktar appararently only own 50% of his services, that's not enough for us to own for in the Premier League. We need to retain all the 100%.

Apparently two other entities apart from Shakhtar have ownership of Mkhitaryan's contract (please do not ask me their names cause it's too damn to difficult to spell them ).
Now currently he has gone off to the training camp of Shakhtar but as rumored his agentS are continuing negotiations . . IN AYRE WE BELIEVE

Ruben Hayrapetyan & Oleg Mkrtchyan are the other two parties for Mkhitaryan's ownership. (Copied from the internet)

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
These third-party ownerships are ridiculous.
So, if Shakhtar own 50% of him and his release clause is ~20m pounds does that mean that Shakhtar get 10m and the others 10m or do we - or any buyer - have to pay 20m to Shakhtar and another 20m to those third-party owners who have the other 50% of the player's rights?
Might in the end be easier not to do business with third-party owned players... Their prices go so easily up when it's not just the club wanting money but other entities as well.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
The 20m would all go to Shaktar for only 50% of his services. We'd then have to re-negotiate for the other 50% with the other parties. It's far too difficult, and it will be far too costly. Can't see the club doing it, personally.
50% of Mkhitaryan's services won't let us play him in the BPL btw. We need the full 100% according to the rules for the PL. Co-ownerships do not work in England. Mascherano and Tevez are the only players in recent years to play in the league from third parties. And there was a lot of contreversy there. West Ham got screwed over.

Luis Alberto fee is 6.5m pounds. It could potentially go up to 8m pounds with add-ons. Four year deal, optional fifth.
