Really? Agger and (assuming Skrtel leaves) 3 CBs under 24... Yeah, that's sounds like a good mix.

Toure is a savvy veteran, something every team needs at times. As long as he's not on ridiculous wages (I can't see how he would be, as we wouldn't pay them, and he's obviously in a weakened bargaining position), then I am just fine with signing him as cover. It's a free transfer for a proven Premier League defender. Where's the harm?

There's some definite concerns over Toure's fitness, form, and ability at this point unfortunately.

I would add his age on there too. Not the fact that he's 32, but the fact that he's probably lying and is older than that.

Toure is still fairly class IMO. I'd have him back at Arsenal as a back-up CB. :coffee:

I really want him to stay at City and be our #3/4th CB, He has had a number a good performance while covering for Kompany/Nastasic this season. However, he is looking for more playing time.

Italian newspaper La Stampa reports this morning that Arsenal are preparing to formally make their bid for Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic in the coming hours.

Arsenal will bid 24 million euros for Jovetic with an annual salary of four million euros being paid to the Montenegro international.

La Stampa claim Jovetic’s representatives will meet with Juventus as well and the Fiorentina player would prefer to remain in Italy with the Old Lady rather than head to London.

But, Arsenal are likely to offer a better financial package than The Viola and to the player himself so could well win the battle for one of Serie A’s best players.

The Italian paper also suggests Juventus and Arsenal will also compete for the signature of Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain in the coming months.

Jovetic currently earns 2.5 million euros a season. Whilst Higuain brings home 3.8 million euros a season. Both of which Arsenal are believed to be able to pay as they splash the cash this summer.

Arsene Wenger has been boosted in his chase for Jovetic by the fact Fiorentina failed to secure a Champions League spot via Serie A.

Not really EP. PSG have asked Madrid for €7.5 mil to release Carlo and they're expecting Madrid to accept according to Le Monde in France (very reputable).

PSG have officially approached Rafa Benitez and have made him an offer. Napoli tried to get him to commit yday... but Benitez held off knowing that an offer from PSG was coming.

Now he needs to decide. Not a hard decision imo since Napoli are about to lose Cavani too.

It's everywhere in Italian media (La Stampa, Mediaset, CNN Italy) that Arsenal have met Jovetic's release clause and are discussing terms with the player, but so are Juventus. Arsenal already offered him a contract but Jovetic's agent tonight will meet Juve people trying to get the best deal.

As it looks like which team offers the most money gets the player.

You could see a player sold to PSG at a reasonable rate... Coentrao for example or even Modric.
