My thoughts on Nani's red card shame
Sorry to bring up bad memories boys but I thought I'd give my opinion seeing as this section is as dead as Thatcher.
Where to begin. Let's start with the red card. Well I personally don't think it was a red but Nani was a moron for getting himself in a situation like that. Knowing that UEFA favours a classico final, we should have been more prepared. No need for that. The ref was a ****, but Nani made it pretty easy for him. With Nani on we had Madrid. They had no solutions as Mourinho throughout his career has shown, he is a reactive and not a pr active coach, something the Spanish players complained about. Real Madrid have no solutions to teams that defend deep and block off space i behind the defence. Tactically, SAF defeated Mourinho, no question there.
What surprised me the most is the reaction after the red. That said more about this team than anything to be honest. We saw two teams go through similar things but for longer. Chelsea last season in the camp Nou and Inter Milan in 2010 at the cam nou (Platini pls...). Those guys worked their asses off and left it all on the pitch in a more hostile stadia, and against a superior team. The comparison is a bit off because Chelsea and Inter are teams that, tactically at least, can do well without the ball and are better set up defensively, but still that is what it takes, they went there, they saw, they suffered. The sending off caused too much of a mental shock to the players. I would have thought that the team would have responded better than that.
So in that sense we desreved nothing. Imagine if we had gone down to 10 men to a team like Barcelona? It would have been double figures ffs! That's my 2 cents for anyone that cares to read.
and pls above all....
I urge you...
stay safe...

Just because United weren't capable of going through doesn't mean they didn't deserve to. Before the red card United were the superior side and in my opinion would have seen out the game had Nani not been harshly red carded.

I think Modric played a huge part.
he came on in same time as red card if i remember and he was motm the second he walked in.
United was in shock and Modric changing things in the middle caused what we saw.
I don't know about the deserving part but United was clearly the better side before the red.

what's done is done.
The officiating in this season's CL has been abysmal. That's why I always think you really need luck more than actual skill to do well in the comp.
