Thoughts on FFP Empty Thoughts on FFP

Post by Internal Sat Sep 03, 2011 2:07 am

Fckin ffp seems to be having an opposite effect. Manu, Madrid, barca, city, Chelsea, and pool are all basically unaffected bc they pull in so much revenue and buy all the top players. Some of there benches are more talented and more expensive then most other squads starting XI. In a few years it's just gonna be an oligopoly of Europe with these teams, if it hasn't already happened.

Idk when we'll next see a grande inter, with players the caliber of Ronaldo, eto'o, vieri, recoba, batistuta ect. Hell, even branca admits ffp is killing us, as other euro teams pull up to 40% more revenue. Something needs to be done, or who knows where we'll end up.

We seem to have great youths we just never use them so we might be okay. In a time like this why the hell would we sell santon!

Even if we start developing youth, we'd just end up selling our top talents anyway. Congrats, we'll turn into Porto

i had an article about that in the old forums, too bad its gone now, but yea, it keeps the rich rich and poor strugling.

one of its supposed positive side effects is that player prices will go down, but that isnt true as teams will try to maximize on their sales profits to balance the books and with the richer teams splashing the cash, only teams like us will have to pick the leftovers

Compete with them by building stadiums. But of course, that's not allowed as the city councils would lose hundred of millions every year, so they tax the shit of every project. In the long run though, it would be better to pay those taxes and build a stadium then not to imo. I still can't fathom how Calcio teams don't own their own stadias, while the like of Zaragoza, West ham and Monglabdhahshah(you spell it) have one.

Inter's revenue isn't too bad, I think it's about the same as Liverpool's, around €200m.

These are 09-10 figures, but Inter's problem is huge expenses, especially wages. You've got some rather old players on big contracts and in 2010 your wage bill was €205m. If in the future Inter can sign quality players with not-so-insane wages, that should help a lot.

Edit. For example, Inter spends more on wages than Manchester United. I think that describes it very well how loose Inter have been with their wages policy.

All those players combined won about 4 trophies in a decade with Inter Rolling Eyes

1 Scudetto, 2 Coppa Italias, 1 UEFA Cup from 97-07

Grande Inter? Neutral

yeah, they may not have won 5 european championships, but they were legends. marquee players in their generation who helped sell the inter brand. i was trying to point out the disparity between us and the new EU elite and how its directly linked to ffp. let me ask you this, if we played madrid, barca, man u, or city(again), how would we do?

FFP is ridiculous, It only makes the stronger "Stronger" and the weaker "Weaker".. I miss the days in football when lesser known teams could compete.

A decade ago "Dynamo Kiev" was an absolute nightmare to play against , Nowadays there are hardly any teams that can pose a serious challenge to Laliga's big 2 or the better teams in Epl.

If they want to cut on spending then they should create a "Salary cap" or transfer cap.... Make the clubs think more about their next move instead of just splashing around 50 mil. for a striker who can't score goals ??
Ofcourse clubs will find loopholes around it , as no system is waterproof

Legends/marquee players....who didn't win anything

I'm not following you at all...you're blaming FFP for not having those players anymore, but what did having all those players get us? We couldn't even win the league once...

Were better off as a club building TEAMS instead of blowing huge sums on one individual player like we used to...

exactly. a salary cap or a set amount that teams can spend would be more "financial fair play." but spending only as much as you earn is improving few and impairing the rest.

Im not aware of all the details with this rule but it seems to me there is too many loopholes and ways around it.

Whats stopping the owners of Man City for example from using another company they are involved with to sponsor the team for 500million dollars every year? that would count as revenue, no?
