Bruno didn't abandon a sinking ship. Not sure if it was due to loyalty or lack of offers though.

Man, I miss Senna. Busquets-Senna would have been the best double pivot of all times. Instead Spain got that scrub Alonso who is just getting into Xaviestasquets way. DAT Euro 2008 when Alonso was sitting on the bench and Spain were playing beautiful football.

De La Red would have made Busquests a bench warmer if not for his heart condition

Well we'll never know will we? But what I do know is that he had all the tools to be a great player.

Busquets right now, is better than he ever was, and hes younger.
De La Red was a very good player at Getafe and a promising one for 7 games for Madrid.
He wouldnt be the first.

As i said earlier Spain's style would have to change without Xaviesta they would have to play more like Germany.... which means....Javi-Xabi
Mata-Cesc-Pedro
Of course the wing options can be mixed about a bit but the premise is the same they would need a lot more direct play.
I'd think they'll still be the best side around. Might not win everything but they would still be favourites. Assuming the side above (although i'd swap Fab for Cazorla only because he's closer to Iniesta in style) and with a DM, Borja, Fab, Silva and Jesus Navas on the bench, can anyone actually match that midfield? Germany, Italy? Maybe. Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, France, Holland? Probably not.

Well as far as them winning things, I'm sure they still would just not as much or as convincingly. It's hard to pin down though, because history has already been written. One thing that's would be for sure though is that more up and coming midfielders like Isco, Beñat, Thiago, etc. would get a lot more minutes internationally. And with others like Santi, xabi, javi M., Spain would be pretty well of anyways.
