Are people really moaning about anyone cheating against Uruguay!!!

People should be applauding someone for playing them dirty cheats at their own game, no team has ever cheated as much as these gits.

It's possibly the first time a player (Neymar) has gone up in my estimation for cheating, if only someone would have snapped Suarez in two I'd have been really happy with tonight's game.

That was awful. At least he should've made it believable like grabbing Perreira's hand and punching himself with it. That was amateur from Nerman.

Yeah exactly, it's not like Neymar thought "Hmm... Uruguay have cheated a fair bit in recent times. I'm going to take my good guy cap off and really start diving tonight as a one off to teach 'em a lesson"

The fact is certain players dive all over the place, no matter who the opponent. And as football is becoming softer and softer there is less being done against diving and simulation.

In my opinion any blatant dive should be punished retrospectively with a 3 match ban. Repeat offenders should get more lengthy punishments.

Of course it's not a perfect solution, there isn't one. But getting a panel to judge the alleged 'dive' would be fair enough.

Then challenges like Mcmanaman against Haidara should be getting 15+, as that's much, much worse.

I agree there should be retrospective punishment for diving as quite frankly it's disgraceful, but that's too much.

It does get annoying watching Neymar flopping about. He's got enough talent not to do that I think he'd be even better if he tried to stay on his feet rather than looking for contact at every chance.

I don't think it's too much at all.


It's the only way to slowly get rid of it, sure you can think "Ooh a dive is a dive. Meh"

Fact is, plenty of these dives completely ruin the game. They can dive and get goals directly from the dive, or even get players sent off. It leads to teams picking up victories from cheating. And hell, some of these victories can be big games.

There doesn't need to be a direct relation between bans for diving and bans for dangerous play. That's a whole different topic.

Starting at a 1 match ban would be fine, then the more you are found 'guilty' of diving, the lengthier the ban.

The only other way would be to encourage refferee's to clamp down on divers, and that's not going to happen. Plus, there's still a huge window for human error .

Basically, I hate diving. It's a form of cheating, and it's a form of cheating that just so happens to have a very, very low risk and a high reward.


Get caught? Potential warning, possible yellow card for repeat offending.

Don't get caught? Free kick/Penalty/opposition player booked/opposition player sent off.

Lol please. My point is that uruguay was just as bad in general as brazil in diving. Whether you like either side more is a different story

It was a joke, of course it's not welcome in the game but like the boy who cries wolf, the more and more you do it, the less and less people will take notice of you when you're wronged.

I don't like the cheating mentality of some countries and Uruguay are one of the worst.

I really want to like this guy, hope he drops his act after being called out a few times.
