Re: You are the Ref
Mmmm, hard ones.
1- I guess it's red card for both players fighting and repeat the free-kick.
2- Suspend the game or warn that the game will be suspended if the crowd doesn't stop.
3- I think it's an indirect free kick in the goal line?
Btw, LOL at Wayne Rooney portrait.

1. Pay the goal.

1 and 3 are definitely not correct.
If two players fight, even from the same team, it's a red card.
And you can't grab the posts of the Goal.

Re: You are the Ref
I'm the referee.
I took it as not an actual fight but an argument. Which happens all the time in the PL. Carragher once got in a little feud with Arbeloa and Alonso had to seperate the two on the pitch. Happened again couple of weeks ago when Lvierpool played against Wigan. I'm sure there's more examples.
Also, you can grab onto the posts...

No, you can't grab the post. If you score while grabbing a post it has to be disallowed. Goalkeepers can't grab the post either. Don't know what is the punishment though.
Come on Blackmore, post the answers.

I want to see the rule for that. I've seen many people jump up and grab the bar / touch the post.

Re: You are the Ref
if the keeper can reach the crossbar he can save the ball and i doubt it would be possible for him to lower the crossbar so quickly or because it's just not possible to physically lower it.

Re: You are the Ref
1. If the players are punching each other in the face (like in the image) then you have to give cards and disallow the goal.
2. Call for security to kick out or arrest the racist fans.
3. This is an impossible situation because...
If this actually happened, it would be moving the goals, so it would be illegal.

3. This is an impossible situation because...
It would take much more time and energy to get your hand over the crossbar and to slam down on it to lower it enough to save the shot for you. Why not just stick a palm up instead?Muzza wrote:if the keeper can reach the crossbar he can save the ball and i doubt it would be possible for him to lower the crossbar so quickly or because it's just not possible to physically lower it.

1. Book the players.
2. Ask security to remove the fans being racist.
3. I doubt this would happen, however I guess it would be disallowed.

Re: You are the Ref
1. If they actually punched each other you give reds, and give a FK to the other team. If they just made a bit of noise, but didn't physically touch anything, you give the goal and move on. If they touched a defender in the wall, you give them a talking to, and repeat the FK.
2. You pause the match, and get the stadium announcer to tell off the racists in the crowd. You switch the assistant to the other side of the pitch, and get the club fined by UEFA/FIFA later on. If the racists chants persist in a truly disruptive manner after moving your assistant, you call off the match.
3. While I just don't see this happening, if this actually happened and was obviously intentional, I reckon I'd have to give a penalty. This also sounds like it would probably be a red, but I would give a yellow max.

Re: You are the Ref
1. Repeat the FK for sure, the punishment (yellow, red, or just a talking to) depends on how serious it was.
2. Threaten to end the match and award it as a 3-0 victory to the other team. If it continues, do just that.
3. If it actually happened, it would be because the crossbar itself was faulty and it would have been my fault for letting it pass the pre match inspection so I really don't know what I would do

Re: You are the Ref
lol Rooney.
1. Tell the blue team to retake the free kick. Warn the two players that pretended to fight that what they did was unsportsmanlike behaviour.
2. Alert the fourth official to inform stadium staff to deal with the small number of fans who are handing out the abuse. If it persists, suspend the game. Describe what happened in the match report and have the proper authorities deal with it after the game.
3. I really doubt that is possible lol but I guess I would say play on. Mostly because I'm not sure that awarding an indirect FK inches away from the goal seems rational and a drop ball would only cause dispute. I would mention it in the match report and perhaps the football association would install sturdier posts and crossbars.

Re: You are the Ref
1. Mole can help us out with this one
2. Call off the game. If the linesman is distracted by racist chants, the chances of him f*cking up a call are multiplied exponentially
3. The amount of weight required to bend a bar means anyone who can do it would be a sumo wrestler and not a footballer.
