Am I the only one who thinks that both Pique and Masch are currently not Barca material.....I love Pique and all but what Ronaldo has been doing to him in the past number of games is illegal.

Great marking by Alba for the first goal.

Pedro useless,I'll be pissed if he doesnt get sold in the summer,we could get 15 million for him.Same for good'ol Cesc.

Villa did miles better than Pedro and although thats not saying much he's close to 32 years old and its not even his natural position.Plus this system doesnt suit him very much.

Today showed me the difference between our depth and Madrid's.

Abate should be Alves's replacement.

We need to have a backup plan. Its not possible that this team is suited to only one style of play.

Cesc....

Messi needs to run.

(End rant)

I think we learned today that although playing fabregas messes up our game, the fact is that the entire team has been very out of it for many games. For the first half of the season, our main lineup included cesc and we did okay for the most part. I would say we drew with madrid in the camp Nou because of our make shift defence. I've never spoken too badly about Cesc and indeed there are some games where he was brilliant, but sometimes we should just stick with what has worked in the past.

That being said, I think we need a change. Just something to add to our arsenal so that we can be more unpredictable.

Its not a complicated situation we are in, there is no need for over analysis of individuals and things like this. I wish right now it was merely indiviudals..its isnt anymore.

To make my post as short as possible, I will say only this.

The team no longer has direction, they have moved very far away from the original plan its untrue.

The players are now playing based on how good they are, rather than a collective unit.

I see nearly every player taking more touches than they should be, I see nearly every player making bad choices.

The reason for this, they dont have any direction and that comes from you know who, the coach.

I see Roura on the sideline shouting works of motivation...motivation is not the problem, we required direction and solutions.

We did decent in the first half. We controlled the game well enough against a strong team..but we still didnt create too much. Much of this was because moves got broken as players took an extra touch, dribbled when a pass was on, passed it backwards instead of advancing with the ball...they dont have confidence, so they are playing on instinct and that isnt what we want.

None the less, we still looked fairly okay. However, we faded badly as they grew with their subs, at this point anyone could see the team needed direction and changes..instead we got neither.

Guardiola wouldnt ever of allowed this level of disorganisation in constructing plays.

Before, we had Cesc and Iniesta in each others way and Pedro playing the invisable man role. We only got one of those today, Villa was a bright spot despite not having a perfect game by any means. But at least he pulled out wide, beat Essien a few times and attempted some runs.

But again, we needed changes in other areas...Pedro for Tello ideally...we got Villa out, someone who was looking dangerous...for Alexis...

Then the bizare Pedro for Adriano...then they scored and all she wrote.

The goals? I think people are far too harsh.

Mascherano could do nothing about that ball behind him to Benzema. Morata got half a yard of space on Alves, on his weak foot...not much at all and an ideal situation normally..but he pulled of a great ball and there was nothing anyone could do.

Ramos jumped over Pique, I dont know what anyone can complain about..it wasnt bad marking, he just got beat by someone who jumps higher...what more can you ask? Jump higher?

I feel sorry for Pique, he was the only player capable in the air in our entire 10...and they had Pepe, Ramos, Khedira, Cristiano....the pressure on him to win every set peice is too much.

Anyway, gone on long enough.

The team has no confidence, I knew that after the Milan game, these results are quite predictable...and someone guessed both of them spot on further proving it.

We wont beat Milan either, so prepare for more dissapointment.

At this pont, all we can hope is that we hold on to the league.

Tito couldnt come back soon enough, the team is in desperate need for a coach.

BarrileteCosmico wrote:I seem a lot more optimistic than the rest here. Frankly I thought we played a lot better than 3 days ago and we could've walked with a draw if Masche could mark Benz or if Pique could cover Ramos in a set piece. I saw a lot more effort, pressing, movement, and overall a much more balanced team. Granted, we lost against Real's B team, which sucks, but I thought it was a step in the right direction.

I don't think we stand to lose the league. Mou built a team and a system designed to beat Barca, and when we lost the tactical edge he had the clear advantage. Unless we get a motivational drain from this I don't think it will translate to the rest of La Liga.

Laughing

I mentioned this in another thread but i'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that thinks that. You can see it in the way they seems to have even more trouble than Barca whenever they are forced to make more than 5 passes in a row, because they are built to be a counter-attacking side i.e the perfect way to play against Barca..

alfred and harhar, great point you all have made which was once again evident in their UCL tie against ManUtd.

My worst fears were confirmed about Valdes. The latest news is he's got a four match ban. When trouble comes it comes from all directions. Now we really have to fight to hold on to our league position.

BTW where are alex and cat? Both of them have not been seen for some days, alex for an even longer time I think.
