Varane has provided a calm in our defense ramos or pepe haven't. His distribution, awareness, and anticipation is top class.

I think Garay wanted to leave. He didn't want to be 4th choice.

He said this in 2012:

RM thinking all hope is lost. I can still see you drawing if not winning. Remember earlier this season? W managed to get a draw and even dominate the game even with a crap defense.

Th last time we faced Madrid , we had pique, puyol, alves missing, this time pepe, ramos,crackntrao are missing for real !!!

Its gonna be fun watching how their makeshift defence copes with our attack.

I hope Essien plays at RB Very Happy

If Varane manages to keep the intricate attackers ; <iniesta-messi-cesc> in his pocket, then yes, he is definitely world class.

Also not forgetting the bombing runs of alba and alves on either side Laughing

Barcelona fans and their arrogance, they've quickly forgotten how Higuain saved them from a good trashing a few months ago, Real will be pumped up for the match, and will play as if their lives depended on it, I predict a 2-1 win for Real Madrid in the first leg and a 2-2 draw in the second leg.

Do you forget the backline we played last match? Completely makeshift. That won't happen again. In any case, I agree that Barca fans are counting their chickens before they hatched, but it's nice to see the injury situation reverse now.

My only worry is Albiol.

Varane is good. Marcelo and Arbegod are starters. so we will just miss 1 good CB.

The defense of Barcelona is no better now in their last three matches they've conceeded not less than twice every match, and this was against an attack that didn't contain Ronaldo, Ozil and Benzema.

albiol-varane is better than ramos-pepe, so thats good

marcelo will get raped, coming back from injury and all
arbeloa is bad, cant stand a chance against iniesta+alba

we're worse in every position right now, only lukc can win us this game

we will see how vastly improved defense contain messi and co. Not to mention how Ronaldo,benzema almighty attacking power do against meh defence -with alves ,GP,and Alba.can not wait for that.

Real Madrid will not need set pieces to score against Barcelona, Real will counterattack them to death with pace, with Alves in the worst form of his life and the slow duo of Pique and Puyol, the forwards of Real Madrid will have a lot of joy.

I trust Mourinho to set the team up perfectly for us to win, I hope the forwards take their chances though, they've been very profligate in front of goal in the recent clasicos.

Madrid will do their usual high line pressing and launching long balls to forwards and wings. i don't like this but it's quite effective against Pique and Masch.
