He played 17 games this season, Pique 22... the difference is little, but Varane played much better than Pique. I don't know why are you saying Puyol because he isn't a starter anymore, Mascherano is.

I dont care about this season. How many experience does this guy have. zero to none. I´m not even worried about this 19 year old kid thinking he can stop the best player ever.

Varane this....Varane that...why must the constant overrating continue?

French Bartra, might be great one day, might not be..right now hes a talented young player and thats it.

Anyway, im tired of these games. Play each other 8 times a season aint fun, 2 or 3 max would be much better. This throw in trophy should be made one leg, it would be alot more interesting.

the reason varane continues to be mentioned is because he has not once put in a wrong foot defensively. any madrid follower would tell you he has been nothing but fantastic every time he has played which is a huge contrast to our typical defenders.

Neither had Bartra.

Still dont see us going on and on about him. Mostly because he is just a kid and bigger challenges await, more time must pass.

quite different imo, varane is 3 years younger yet has double the appearances as bartra. in addition to varanes great track record in ligue 1.

Well first of all I didnt say their situation are exactly the same.

Second, the larger point is you guys are going on and on about him like he is already elite. Just slow your role is all im saying, he barely played in meaningful games.

Finally, he got a track record of like 20 games in Ligue 2, not 1.

Well I'm not saying he's elite.
But he's an immense talent. Not a French bartra.

Hopefully he's able to play vs Barcelona. It'll be a great experience for him .

What is wrong with you? Puyol is a barca legend, your fanboyism for anything Madrid is too obvious.

Usually if you have favoritism towards a player you don't overrate them as much as the madrid fans, your setting him up for epic jynx and lol's for wednesday.

As if certain Barca fans don't over rate their players.
Tello, Cuenca, Montoya, etc

Even Alba who came from Valencia this season and people hype him up so much call him a masia product blah blah.

O,o.. when has anyone overhyped those people? lol
I'm certain most Barcelona fans rate Tello as an amazing sub, hardly something to brag about
Or Montoya to have a future but not the best RB now
Cuenca? lol
There is a difference between conversation of a person then overhyping a player such as people claiming Varane is the best defender -- blah blah blah xD

i mean have you guys even watched varane play? also im not saying hes some elite defender but the amount of defensive maturity this young kid has is immense. he has played very well and its difficult not to rate him highly considering how little mistakes he has made.

ya you didnt say varane was exactly the same as bartra.. but you said "dont see us barca fans going on and on about a player" well you dont because you have bartra and you dont have varane. if you had varane it would be the same story dont pretend that any fan on this board is any more or less braggy about his or her own player.

It's at times like these that Madridistas wish they hadn't sold a fantastic CB in Eze Garay. Would easily be in the top 3 CBs Madrid has, and would give Madrid a viable option to Ramos when this one has low form.

Actually, yup. I wanted to get rid of Albiol and keep Garay.

i think most of madrid fans wanted to keep garay. his constant injuries and low pace were worrying though.

Garay, such a talent, really wanted him to stay but it seems Mou didn't believe in him.

Sorry but I'll have to disagree.
Varane has provided a calm in our defense ramos or pepe haven't. His distribution, awareness, and anticipation is top class.
