RUMOR: Skype to replace XBL Party Chat

Thoughts? i think it makes sense personally and a logical step forward as a lot of people use Skype when they game anyway lol.

OT. MS owns Skype now don't they? It'll probably be implented on their new xbox console.

Yeah DNA they bought them out in 2011 and there's been rumors of them planning something pretty big with it ever since.

This would be that something big i'd imagine.

There is nothing wrong with it but you should always look to improve in life.

As good as party chat is you can always improve.

I use it if I game on the computer online but other than that...

I know a lot of people who add each other on a skype call and communicate that way instead of using the XBL party feature.

I would probably do the same if i played MP anywhere near as much as i use to as i mainly use my Xbox for Netflix these days.

Skype are taking over hotmail too, so it seems MS are trying to sync everything into 1 account so that they can use your information to data mine.

Is there something wrong with the XBL party feature I'm not aware of?

They are merging all the communication products into Skype, so it;s easier to use on Windows 8, smart glass etc

How does Skype improve party chat?

Not sure how I feel about this and I'm also curious to see how it will be implemented. I'm happy with party chat as is and I don't really like changes when they are not needed. I normally keep my internet on, but turn off applications like Skype while gaming. I know it can cause lag and such once you are in the midst of a call - I just hope they have thought this through (when it comes to consoles, new releases are prone to having kinks and bugs that need to be worked out).

Here's to hoping they don't screw things up too bad. I'm also unsure if I will be making the move to the new consoles; the older I get, the less interested I become in videogames (not to mention how expensive everything is these days).
