Really stupid story but I wouldn't put it out of Wenger's reach. Afterall, he took Yossi on loan last season. Doubt Chelsea would let him go to a rival after what happened with Yossi last season.

Loan?? LOL, do these morons actually think we're going to willingly lease one of our most promising players to one of our Top 4 rivals, especially when we have like no strikers in the squad whatsoever and the move would considerably weaken us while making our rivals stronger??

Haha, I got one too, last year. But that's not the reason I want him to stay. He's one of the most promising young English players in the League. Letting him just walk out the door either now or at the end of his current contract would be just ludicrous.

It would be a massive mistake for sure.

With the way this club conducts their business, nothing would surprise me. I could honestly see then shipping him off - either on loan or permanent - on deadline day for God-knows-what reason, and I think it's a distinct possibility, if not probability, that he'll be allowed to leave next summer when his contract is up.

I really do hope I'm wrong though.

I honestly think he will sign a new contract. I very much doubt we will let him go for free.

He is worth at least £15m, that is too much to lose.

I've had a feeling about this for a few days. I'd even go out on a limb and say it will indeed happen.

But even if it does, it doesn't necessarily means Sturridge is suddenly guaranteed to be gone like some media hounds will have you believe. If you take into consideration the fact that we could very well be playing a game every 3 days in a few weeks/months time, selling Sturridge and leaving ourselves with just 2 strikers takes us right back to square one. 3 center-forwards at a club in Chelsea's position is very much the norm.

They'd rather have his services from now til May than ship him out now just for the 10-15 mil it would raise. That's typically how business is done at Chelsea.

That being said, I want him to retire at Chelsea and be rotated with Lukaku in the future.

That's my concern. He might think he'll have a better chance at a starting spot elsewhere and choose to walk, as he very possibly doesn't seem to realize a raw 22 year old still developing is NOT going to have a starting spot at any team seriously competing for multiple trophies on multiple fronts.
I hope he thinks about the great situation he's in, realizes he has a every opportunity to continue to develop and work his way up the pecking order, and sign a new contract.

I believe he will. The last promising youngster to leave who had a shot at the first team was Stoch. It doesn't happen very often so I believe Sturridge will stay.

We have been really good at keeping key players for a while now.

If we loan Studge i'd be happy with Schurrle. Great workrate and has the ability to be a WC player.

Would beg the question of how we're going to give all these guys gametime though.

Not in that position mate. Chelsea are perilously light on center-forwards.

Yea that I agree with. Robbie has ALOT of options now. I'm sure he'll find a way to keep everyone happy and playing as often as possible. He was excellent at it last year even with a much more, shall we say, difficult group to work with, so I have full faith in him going forward.
