No mate. I watched a lot of your games live (and not MOTD), he was not anywhere near his 09/10 level. His concentration level had dropped and lost possession quite a lot. Also beaten much more often by opposition wide players than other years that I've seen him play.

Put it this way...the standards that he has set for himself in Prem, and all those brilliant years...compared to those high standards, he was horseshit. But comparing him with average standards for norm, he was probably behind Baines and Enrique in terms of having the best season as a LB in the league.

I think some people need to distinguish between a very good player and a world class player.

A WC player imo is a player that stands out in the team, a player that even in his bad days can produce a bit of magic for his team to make the difference between winning and losing. Is also consistence on all levels, be it on club level or international level.

I think my list is spot on with that regard.
